“overpriced”

Written on: 29/07/2021 by KyleeMcKee (1 review written)

For xmas 2019 my son bought myself and husband a virgin experience :
Three course meal with sparkling wine for two at Cafe Rouge.
cafe rouge went into liquidation in 2020 due to covid19 and my husband had
a stroke in June of that year so we were unable to use the gift.
As he is much better i contacted V.E.D. on line and to their credit
they honored the purchase and extended it to September 21.
I changed the venue to afternoon tea at Chiddingstone Castle paying
a further 31 pounds.
I priced the purchase as if we had gone independently
To enter Castle 9.50 each total £19.00
2 cream teas consisting of
1 tea 1 coffee 2 scones each with
jam and cream £14.00

INDEPENDENT AFTERNOON COST £33.00

I am not aware of how much my son paid for this gift but the
cheapest dine out experienc is £53.50, add on the £31.00 I
paid total something in the region £84.50.
of course V.E.D. have administration costs possibly in region of £25
is reasonable so £58.00 to £60.00 would be fair not the £84 .00 it has cost
