freddycd15's review of WowCamera -

“Broken promises and half truths”

I used Wowcamera for the first to buy a Samsung Tablet 8 Ultra. The Tablet was not new as described on the site so I asked for a refund. The box was opened already upon arrival. The sales rep gave me reasons for this which was dubious. She said that vendors perform "random stock checks" so the box might be opened. Then later in another email, she claims the reason the box was opened is that " it appears the checks were likely done during customs clearance due to added security checks"

I kindly asked for a refund. She offered up to £25 refund for the postage which the buyer has to pay. Please note that the return address is in Hong Kong, not wherever the item was sent from. I raised the case with Paypal instead as I felt it was easier and more secure to claim the refund back that way. I've posted the item back and Wowcamera authorised the refund. However, because I raised the case with Paypal, she told me that they won't offer me the postage amount anymore! The reason for this was "the business is under restructuring phase, it is not actively operating at this time". I'm pretty sure this is not completely true as their website does not have any evidence of this currently.

I am seeking ways to get the refund back, but given it is not a UK based company, they know that the law does not go very far. Also, as I mentioned, be aware that they may give you off-the-shelf reasons which are half-truth at best when you do complain or have issues in order to keep you from pursuing things.
