“DOA Computer - Not tested sufficiently before despatch, ”

I purchased a computer as a Christmas present for my son. It quickly became apparent that it was faulty. It would blue screen within a few minutes of being on and did this continuously. I reloaded the operating system in an attempt to fix this but the problem persisted. It also rebooted during the installation, so it took several attempts before the OS would go back on.

I was unable to contact support on the next working day. Simply an answer phone message that requested to leave a message. No information on when they where next available. I logged a ticket on their website resigned to the fact that they had either gone bust or that they were closed between Christmas and New Year. It turned out to be the latter.

There cannot have been sufficient testing of this computer and I suspect none before it was dispatched.

Come the new year I contacted support and was able to speak to someone. They offered a repair, I requested a refund. The computer was collected and a few days later I received a refund. This part of the transaction was dealt with very well.

The biggest let down was that the computer was faulty and that I was unable to contact anyone about it until after the new year. (No information on their website or their answerphone message about opening times over the holiday period.)

It was obvious within 5 minutes of using the computer that it was faulty, how was this not picked up by ITC before despatch.
