This is a very good website. It has many books and the expedition is fast. The prices are good too.

I'd been looking for a long time for a book which would give me all 3 versions of Chinese: i.e. the original (simplified) Chinese characters; then the translation into Romanised English ('pinyin'); then the English beneath - so that one could learn quickly and easily.

Well, the 'Chinese Farmers' Calendar' (which includes a CD - essential for help in correct pronunciation), fit the bill exactly; but I also wanted a visual guide to writing the Chinese characters - a notoriously difficult task. Here, again, the Bookshop came up trumps: with a boxed set of 3 DVDs. Excellent!

A short review such as this, however, does not do justice to the sheer wealth of variety that this small, but beautifully organised online resource has to offer.

My advice, in conclusion, is to have a browse!

I ordered books for my dad for xmas, and the whole process was very easy for me (considering I can only read English, I managed to order books okay!). Delivery was fast, no problems, no complaints. It was also the cheapest I could find the particular books I ordered, in the original Chinese, anywhere that would deliver to the UK.

It was very easy to order the book from their site, and the speed of delivery was almost instantaneous, ordered one day and delivered the next. Packaging was excellent and protected the book which was in perfect condition. Will be using them again for sure.

I have ordered my first books level 1 and level 2 chinese breeze edition from Chinesebookshop.com few weeks ago. The website is quite clear and easy to use, plenty of books to choose from according to level and theme. Checkout without fuss. The delivery was quicker than expected and the books arrived in really good condition accompanied by audio CDs. The story is simple yet interesting enough to keep you going until you finish the book. I have just finished the first one yesterday. Not regret at all, well worth it I already want to buy more!

Price wise no much things to say, £15 for 2 books but I could have it cheaper if you buy some of their "bulk" offer. Very reasonable indeed.

I hope CBC.com will carry on their breeze edition on higher levels. ;-)

The Chinese bookshop stocks many books that are not available elsewhere. I find it very useful as a one stop shop for Chinese learning materials.
