Buyer beware

Before I start, this is a honest review of my experience with Seaward homes / Properties. I'll keep this short it is fair to say this company build an above average quality home, unfortunately they let them selves down with after sales customer services, for instance the first snagging was completed without any delays, however after four months there has been further faults arise for example blown ceiling tape amongst other things, although it's nothing major they needs to be rectified, here's where they let themselves down 1. Two emails sent to their customer service manager no reply not even a acknowledgment 2. Customer service at head office, voice mail left no return call and email sent same again no reply These are all basic communication channels there is no excuse for the lack of response. This is the fourth new build house we have purchased, and by far the worst customer service, I don't want to put anyone off buying from this company, but as they say, "Buyer beware".

Defective Brickwork

We looked on the south coast for two years and selected Seaward Properties as one that appeared to give a good build and added extras.

We have been in our home for 11 months and noticed an increasing number of cracks in the brickwork for which the manufacturer has taken responsibility and have replaced a number of them. We expected a few cracks after 11 years, not 11 months!

It is an ongoing situation as more appear to be spitting on the verticle every 2 weeks and then bursting out their contents exposing the caverty to frost and water, there are about 51 remaining like this.

Seaward Properties said they are not doing any more work on this, even though more are damaged. I have requested a meeting with the MD, no response, invited him to my home with a structural engineer, no response.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm happy to meet with the developers any place any time but they don't appear to want to interact with their customers other than by email.

We are in our 70s and it is taking its tole mentally and physically.

Truly Awful, Wish We Had Never Bought From Them

It starts off with months of being hounded by their estate agents.

Finally, you move into your beautiful new home and have 7 days to spot every tiny imperfection. Obviously you don't spot them all and then get told that 'you did it'.

So scratched bi-fold windows forever. Yay!

Then we get flooded 3 times because the plumbers hadn't removed a piece of plastic. Lucky us!

Wonky walls, thankfully corrected but they didn't want to.

The bricklayers ran out of mortar halfway through building the garage so the mortar changed colour halfway up the wall, grey to yellow. Yay!

Then there's the 'Landscaped garden' OMG. Turf thrown down on a bog. After it finally dried, the ground is so uneven my son can't play football without twisting his ankle. The hedging was just sticks pushed into the ground (all died), the trees have, all but 2, died. 2 even snapped in mild wind!

Every time we get consistent rain for more than 6 hours the garden floods ankle deep.

Seaward will not fix this. We now have to pay out of our pockets to have it all rectified. In fact, Seaward told us we should claim off our home insurance..... What a joke!

Then there's the land ownership issues, it's a private road but it's not fully clear what the street own. Seems the landowner is keeping land that we have been lead to believe we own. We're certainly paying service charge on it. This is actually the first 50 meters of the roadway.

Every stone we turn over we find issues or iniquitous deeds.

You're not buying a stress free home as you'll spend the next year losing sleep, you are actually buying a poop rolled in glitter..... Beware
