Please help! Advice needed? Crest are putting pressure on us to exchange saying they can't give us a legal completion date until we do but we are expecting to complete within the next week after they have changed the date twice! Even though we know the neighbour next doors exchanged/completed on the same day. (He has been in 4 weeks and still has no turf, wardrobes, dishwasher not fitted and no shower screen). They told us last friday they were going to tell my buyers solicitors they would remarket our house if they didn't exchange with us (although they assured us they wouldn't it was a lie to get them in a corner to exchange). The property from crest currently has two smashed windows from them taking the scaffoding down, the front porch is not on and they don't know when it will be available, the turf is not down, built in wardrobes arent in, no shower screen, we have paid in excess or £7k to have flooring put down and we can see through the windows the builders have been walking across our brand new flooring and carpet with their muddy work boots so that's wrecked. At this stage I don't care if they do remarket the property as they have no care to get our house completed in a timely manner and I suspect this is why they want us to exchange to trap us and can't give us a legal completion date. We are going to refuse to exchange unless the house is in a reasonable state. If they do this will we lose the £7k we have paid for flooring and the £1k reservation fee if they decide the remarket the property? What do we do?
