Aprilia Scarabeo 100

I bought 2003 model in 2014 for $1200. Since then I have spent another 1800 in maintenance, repairs, rego and insurance. It was fun at first but when it started playing up then the fun went away like ash from the ash tray! And the misery came in! I had originally acquired the scooter in order to SAVE money, but believe me it has been a money trap and a gutless wonder! I just want to get on a powerful bike now and ride off into the sunset! (Which is probably what the aprilia people would wish I would do!)

Great look , great ride , the larger tires are hard to find on many scooters today , my Aprilia Scarabeo offers a more stable ride i think,Good storage area too.

Aprilia Scarabeo 100 - I had it for a couple of years. The bike has been very good and never let me down. I have tuned the engine with a 125cc cylinder and a carbon reed. I have now order some more tuning parts. A new special exhaust system, bigger carb and a new special variator. I like the 2 stroke engine because it won't need any expensive service, only the oil change in the final gear. The weather and water has not affected the bike, only very cold weather. The carb seems to lean the engine a little bit when the outside temp drops near minus 15 celcius. Not a big problem but the bike can stumble a bit more when cold. The topspeed could be better that's why i do all the tuning. The original topspeed is about 85-90km/t but a few times i have reach 110Km/t.

When the Aprilia Scarabeo 100 scooter works it's great. I had to drill holes on the bottom side of the flooring for extra drainage of water and humidity.

Also, the Motor house cracked (where it holds the exhaust), subsequently cracking the exhaust pipe.

Expensive to maintain even when under warranty.
