Evt 168

This was the lousiest purchase I ever made. It's electric motor was a lemon. It started to give trouble at 800km. It used up batteries like crazy.

Nice If It Is Not Broken

Great fun when not broken. Very vulnerable to technical failure. cost me over 50€cents per km. within 3 years in the scootergraveyard.

I have recently bought a EVT345 trike. It performs well, but I share the reviewer's comment that certain cables are routed in a manner which makes them physically vulnerable to damage, for example where they enter into the wheel motor. EVT could relatively easily modify their design to provide better protection (e.g. weld on a outwardly horizontal protection plate that the supports the wires and also prvent physical damage occurring to the wires). Technically, riding the EVT machines is great fun and they are otherwise very practical and stylish. The EVT team is clearly very competent, especially on the electronics design. Clearly better battery technology to replace lead acid would improve range and weight characteristics, but that needs battery manufacturers to make a breakthrough.

Good Moped With Good Working Range, But There Are

Good moped with good working range, but there are many things to do again, I have the evt 168 so I know what I'm talking about, before evt I had yamaha aerox scooter, if the evt takes suspension and brakes from it, it could be the best scooter ever.

This Bike Is Huge Fun And Very Practical. Reccomen

This Bike is huge fun and very practical. Reccomend getting the optional top box. ITs fast enough to cope easily on most 30-40 mph roads without annoying anyone. I am 17 stone and it makes 30mph with no problem. Dosent seem to struggle on inclines either. I guess someone weighing 10-12 stone would get much better performance out of it, but if it can haul round someone like me!! Range is pretty good too, havent tried it to the max but dont doubt the claims of 40 miles provided you arent going up loads of hills. I would be happy claiming it could cover 30 miles in any conditions. Using the regenerative braking really helps too. (use motor to slow down rather than brakes puts power back into battery). Overall its fantastic. So practical. My car is all but redundant! Saving enough in petrol and parking to pay for scooter in about months flat, after that it will put about £250 a month back into my pocket. And that after all is the point of these machines.

In General The Evt 168 Electric Scooter Lives Up T

In general the EVT 168 electric scooter lives up to it's promises. I had a few troubles but I believe this is due to the intensive use at the limit and some coincidence. I like to ride it and intend too until it falls apart. I really think people should consider if this is not a solution for their transportation, especially for small distances.

This does mean bying some extra equipment to withstand wind and rain, but if you want a clean environment/nature you need to accept the environment as it is.

I've Put About 2200 Miles On My Evt 168 In The Yea

I've put about 2200 miles on my EVT 168 in the year I've owned it and still use it almost daily for commuting to work.

Even 2000 miles later, I still feel the same way about this scooter. Note that EVT is supposedly bringing out faster models now.

Can you buy the EVT 168 in the UK?

soundspeed

Yes, they actually carry the lithium model as well. Much faster and lighter.

Looks like my review was slightly edited and what's left might seem a bit confusing. No matter - it's still a great scooter!
