KTM 950 Supermoto R

I have an 06 KTM 950sm and go on runs with a cluster of sportsbikes. When we park up theres always a crowd round the ktm and nobody gives the universal plastic bikes a second look. If we take the twisty roads and I'm leading the 1000cc sportsbikes struggle to keep up. Thats probably why they like straight roads,, so they can justify the money spent. Its a bike that doesnt need speed for fun. And no biker would even expect it to be doing 140mph plus. I had it at 130 mph but neither me or the bike was happy there. Do the mods and its FUN. If you disconnect the anti wheelie wires and give it a full handfull you will end up on your butt. Toured 1000 miles in 4 days getting about 110 to 130 miles to the tank. With full strapped on luggage tents etc. Comfy enough. Not recommended for two up. Pillion would hate the acceleration and the pilot would hate the braking.

I bought this bike 3 or 4 years ago on a whim thinking ,'i'll use this for a bit of fun for a month then move it on'. Don't think so! I have two other bikes that cost a LOT more than I paid for the KTM 950 and they only get used if I have to.

The sm950 is loads of fun engine and handling wise. Brakes awesome too. Hardly spent a penny on it other than normal consumables. I have 30000 fault free miles on it. Top tip, look up the owners club and get the hints to liberate power.

I have a Suzuki GSX-R 750 that I race on the track once a month, my shift forks are out of line so a friend tossed me the keys to his custom 2006 950 SM. I am now in the middle of purchasing it from him. This is hands down the most fun you can have on 2 wheels.
