Rsvr A Let Down On Power
Ok only owned my 2000 model rsvr two days and nice balance, comfort, handling and looks good but where is the 160 mph top end? Expected better pulling power up the rev range but having to change down too much i reckon. Came from a zx12r after 4 years and to be honest it would destroy the Aprilia anywhere you care to mention all through the range and yes i know its a bigger engine but 120mph and right back to the stop is pathetic !! If this is the best that Aprilia can do with 1000cc then its not good enough. Fitted a MIVV GP can Could that be the problem?? Bike looks nice though :)

Ok I Have A 2004 Rsv Factory And It's Fantastic Bu
Ok I have a 2004 RSV Factory and it's fantastic but not without its faults..first and most anoying is neutral, you can only select it by going into second and dabbing your foot on the lever. then if you want a bike with a rear brake then this bike is not for you because it never works even when it gets bled by the dealer. If you let the battery run out of charge completely the odometer might reset to zero so beware low mileage bikes (check the mot) the clips on the hoses corrode and it stalls sometimes at low speed when you pull the clutch in. at slow speeds round town the clutch is very heavy but hey its a sports bike. parts are not easy to get hold of and are expensive so is servicing but mine has been very reliable with its rotax engine developing 130 bhp with akrapovic cans and a power commander with a live remap from jordan bikes leeds. Now for the good bit..I have recently had it on the track (Cadwell) and it is stunning...the brembo's stop it harder than you can hold yourself back and hardly fade even with loads of abuse..the drive out of corners is great and for a big bike it flicks and turns in really fast maintaining its line and filling you with confidence...Best looking bike since the 916 but i'm getting overtaken by 180 BHP GSXRs on the straights now so i'm saving for an RSV4

So Far Murzy Was Right On The Ball I Have A Aprili
So far Murzy was right on the ball i have a Aprilia RSV Mille R and it does exactly what he said it leaks small amount of rad fluid from the top clamp when bike starts in cold temperature, and sprays it allover your right fearing minor problem to fix get new more powerful clamps, as for the battery once you get an automatic charger for it like 40$ does all the work for you everything else on the bike is awesome had it out to 252km/hr no vibration no shake awesome and i weigh only 140pounds all in all awesome bike

I've Owned Or Ridden A Series Of Modern Bikes Over
I've owned or ridden a series of modern bikes over the last 20 years. CG125, CB500, R1, Triumph 955i, Thundercat, GSX-R, SL1000 (Falco) and get on with the Mille the best (I'm 6ft 4 and 14 stone).
My current bike is a 2006 base model (not the factory). I've owned it for 2 years (since new) and I think it has been very reliable. It is a great bike but not without it's flaws so let's start with those first. The battery does not like winter and needs regular charging or riding. First gear is very tall (although I've resisted the urge to change any gearing as yet but many do). The clips attaching the rubber hoses to the radiator are not that secure and you can leak small amounts of coolant. Riding the bike in traffic in the summer can be unpleasent due to the heat being kicked out.
The flip side is that it's truly a sports bike for the road and copes very well with poorly laid and maintained roads but yet on track, with some small adjustments to susspension settings is precise, controlled, predictable and responsive. It handles well and once past 7000 rpm the engine has to be experienced to be believed. If you want something a little different but yet rewarding you can't go wrong. Just do your homework on the dealer first.

After Owning 7 Sports Bikes In A Row Which Include
After owning 7 sports bikes in a row which includes 3 fireblades 2 x zx750r this bike felt pretty weird the way the power comes in is mental, first gear is very tall but once you get into it they go like stink, changing front cog to 14 tooth is a must. Wheelies at the drop of a hat. The guy who says this bike doesn ' t handle. Just plain wrong. It handles better than all my blades the zxr hands down. Ok they do have the odd teething problems with low battery start ups but if you keep the bike on an optimate battery charger no problem, so far I ' ve had 4,000 odd trouble free miles in 6 months. I love the bike... mines a 2001 RSV mille. Electric blue. If your thinking of buying one check out this site, some really helpful guys and a great forum.

If You Think Of The Mv And 1048 As Classic Italian
If you think of the MV and 1048 as classic Italian super models this is one of those gorgeous full bodied beauties who appear on the Italian Games Show's for no good reason than to look good. They are a good bit bigger and a good bit less subtle than the Super Models, but you also know that they will be a lot more fun to live with!
Which is what makes the RSV factory so good; it's noisy, handles well with a planted feel in the bends that builds your confidence. Needs big positive input on the turn in which takes a bit of getting use to which gives the impression of it being a bit understeery, but once mastered rewards you with amazing corner speed.

Great torque, nice design, great handling (if you knows how a VTwin works), great breaks.

The Front Brakes On The Standard Rsv (not Rsvr) Ar
The front brakes on the standard rsv (not rsvr) are really hard to judge whats going on beneath you because of the lack of feel in the lever, the back brake should NEVER of passed health and safety! It is so short there is not enough leverage to get any thing out of it and your foot also catchs the actual arm of the rear brake lever stopping you from pressing it sometimes!
The bike just point blank refuses to turn in to a bend and anyone that tells you these bikes handle are talking rubbish...
In a straight line it is quick if you rev it hard no doubt at all but remember if you get it going you have too pull it up so good luck with that one fellas...
Oh yeah also they shear the woodruff key in the crank when starting them and because of the torque this also takes out most of the keyway metal in the crank! I kid you not!
I found this review not helpful because...This Guy has obvioustly got a poor poor version of the bike. I've never heard anyone (who can ride a true sports bike) say the RSV doesent corner like a dream..As for breaking woodruf keys! I've never heard this one before, ahs anyone else? as for the brakes, these Italian super bikes are comparable with the best in the world? (ok I have a RSV-R) but surlely they cant be that bad on the standard bike ..can they?
This Gentlemen is reviewing the wrong bike here, this line is for the post 2004 year RSV, RSV R and Factory.

V Twin Sounds Awesome On Full Chat And Roll Off. T
V twin sounds awesome on full chat and roll off. The torque takes quite a bit of getting used too! The bad boy want's to wheelie like a madman so make sure you get used to not cranking ya right hand as you could be looking at the sky more than the road. Would highly recomend cans as this releases more ponies and switching the ecu to map 2 helps the fuelling.
Loads of toys including the rev limit option (changing where the red led flashes) is sublime to show ya mates and set for the roads your will ride at the weekends.
The brakes are rediculous compared to my 918 rrx and really inspires confidence with prielli corsa 3's fitted. Would benefit from a steering damper as the ohlins is setup more for a roads than b's, but if you like tanks slapping and head shaking then don't bother. This thing is perfectly balanced and you will find compared to other bikes negative steering isn't needed as much. There is a beautiful whine when changing gear around 4k - 6k which resembles that of a dump valve and only you can hear that even with cans.
The styling is stunning like a perfect italian model and gets looks and stops traffic where ever you go. I have the red and graphite colour which has a suttle lion logo not the red and black. The tank goes over the top of your legs which helps for lean and holding on plus anabling you to tuck your legs in at higher speeds. The twin really needs to be kept above 3k but everything after that is linear and the growl from the airbox will allow you to understand when to change down.
143bhp standard and extra 4bhp with ram air plus nealy 80f/lbs of torque on tap. Add cans plus fuel map two and the bike makes alot more, yet to find out actual figures.
dealer in norfolk offers servicing at suzi prices.
Said it in the good points so buy one, test ride it or just make sure you own a twin once.
