I don't like V-twins, I've never liked V-twins, and I don't like this Yamaha XV920MK Midnight Virago 920 V-twin. That being said it only cost me $1000 and is one of the best 80's model V-twins I have ever had the pleasure to ride. If you want to see what can be done with this engine as a starting point just look at the modern Yamaha Road Star and V Star bikes. They are simply the ultimate destination of a journey started by the 1981 750 Virago. Once I get my tourer, I will be turning this one into a chopper. Ought to be fun!

Bought mine new in January of 83 and it's still being ridden by my best friend today. Yeah, the starter really sucks but I've never gotten over just how striking the gold and black combination looks. To this day it's the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. I plan on getting it back and doing my best to restore it to show room condition.
