Moto Guzzi V11 Scura 1100

I bought this bike from a dealer in Glasgow as a "rare piece of Italian exotica".

It attracted lots of admiring looks. I came back from the Ulster GP on the ferry and the ferry guys were standing around the bike admiring it, they said it was the nicest bike on the deck - and there were a great many sports bikes and tourers.

Very characterful, but very unreliable. I went on the Guzzi forum to research some of the reliability issues I had, to find an owner lamenting that after spending a lot of money on a new V11 the relaibility was unacceptably poor. He was lambasted and told if he wanted relaibility buy a Honda.

So I sold my V11 and bought a Fireblade. Whilst not an exact comparison, and whilst I still admire the V11's looks, the Honda will start every time no matter what the weather. That increases my enjoyment of biking more.
