I Am A Mature Biker Of Many Years Experience, Alth
I am a mature biker of many years experience, although I also have tourer I felt the need for a light and nimble and cheapish naked bike for a weekend blast. The ER6N seemed to fit the bill, all the reviews were quite favourable and the added bonus of 0% finance tipped the scales. Bought new in may I have now done about 1100 miles. Overall most of the reviews are accurate, but There is an annoying buzz at about 4000rpm, which I traced to the speedo/rev counter pod. I put a piece of rubber tubing between the pod and the top of the headlamp housing. This effected a temprory solution. I put up with it until the first service, when I mentioned at the service I was told "they all do it" I certainly cant recall the demo bike having the problem, so that has just knocked the edge off it.
However if like me you are at the age to need reading specs, both the speedo and rev counter are absolutely unreadable! The numerals are far to small and very unclear. Obviously if your looking for your first big bike you probably wont be old enough to worry about it. But it really bugs me! I dont suggest your ignore the bike on this basis, but please be aware! Had I had realised that Suzuki were about to relaunch the SV650S I think I would have gone down that route.
I found this review very helpful because i am looking for a first bike cant decide betwwen this one or a knew suzuki gladius (sv650) this has helped cos the speedo noise would really irratate me will have to test drive both to see. Thanks for the review Regards Sprrigy
