BMW K1200 SE 1200

BMW have kindly helped me spend a stupid amount of money on keeping what should have been a superb and reliable machine in tip top over the last 4 years and its 22,000 miles. Thank you BMW!

"Routine" works (on top of its BMW FSH) ...have included replacing the clutch, radiator, swing arm/lamellar, brake sensors, balance of brake system, central stand, wiring loom, ignition, camchain, ABS braking system, headlight unit, crown wheel bearings, battery and just about everything else.

When it worked for me it was a superb bike and surprisingly topped 160 mph (on a private stretch of dual carriage way)! I'm bored with it now and want a motorbike.

BMW have offered me a derisory amount "reflecting its current state" - which must have been a text book response given that its actually been rebuilt and effectively brand new!

I've been assured that the complete brake failure when riding at speed (into a 90 degree bend) in the rain was "a one off" and the expensive refit "will not fail in the same way" (pants safe then!) and the ignition cable (failure causing a lock up) "shouldn't have cut itself whilst on the motorway".... The clutch was "just one of those things" and the new one "will last for a lot longer"....
