Mines A Blockade Bike, Built Using Lots Of Bsa Bit
Mines a blockade bike, built using lots of BSA bits around 1972 and registered 1973. I have had the thing since 1980 and it's done a lot of miles (+60 pistons) but not many recently.
Apart from things falling off- including the ignition switch in Bicester once - and exploding alternators, it doesn't leak much. The sound is just lovely and on twisty roads there isn't much to touch it but it's underpowered by modern standards. The comical hub brakes are poor, it's probably better to slow using your feet! So the later T140 with it's disc brakes is a better touch but they spoiled it by sticking the brake and gears on the wrong side!
Overall great for fun - not much cop for long commutes.
I travelled on the back of one once from Bedford to Brands Hatch and back I remember the vibration is incredible and top speed of 90mph was the same as my Suzuki X7 I had at the time the late 70's.
