The End Of An Era
Valley Bike School is no more.
We are retiring and riding our bikes off into the Sunset (metaphorically at least).
We've had a blast and feel privileged to have met so many amazing Bikers down the years.
The Reviews written here, and elsewhere, show how well we are thought of but, it's now time for us to ride for ourselves.
Thank you to everyone who made Valley Bike School what it was, a place to ride and a place to meet new Biker friends.

Excellent Training And Good Fun
I passed my mod1 and 2 with valley bike school.
I was afried I didn’t have the time to do my bike licence but Valley BIke School manages to plan all my lessons and tests around my work.
It was a hell of a lot of fun and the instructors made the experience and training all that much better.
I passed first time on both modules and have already recommended to a friend.
Worth every penny!

Quality, Relaxed, Enjoyable And Safe Training
Fantastic experience with these guys. Quality training, patience and they clearly enjoy it. Never felt pressured and enjoyed the training, riding and brews. I was nervous during Mod 1 & 2 but as the training was great I passed first time. Thank you to all... and feedback is superb. I'll always remember her waving her arms to help me round my U-turn. Thank you.
Thank you Tom. I will pass on your kind comments. Nervous? Everyone is nervous under scrutiny but, you handled the nerves and both tests superbly... well done you. The brews are still available whenever you're passing.
Enjoy your riding.

First Class Instruction
Don't usually bother with writing reviews but the guys and girls at Valley Bike School deserve all the praise they get, genuinely friendly people who make learning a pleasure. They are all about the safety of riding a motorbike, and with that makes you a safer rider. If you are serious about passing your "big bike" licence then these are the people to talk to. First class all the way. Thank you for making me a better rider and getting me through both mod 1 and mod 2 with only 1 fault.
Thank you,
Friendly comes naturally when you're dealing with people who are also friendly and listen to what you're trying to get across. Your riding skills, and your excellent passes, are down to you! Well done. Call in for a brew whenever you're passing.

Great Instructors, Great Bikes, Great Fun!
I decided to use valley bike school, partly based on the excellent reviews on this site and google and I also liked the idea of training around the Rossendale area, due the the amazing countryside. I’d had a few months experience on a 125cc and based on this I decided on a 3 day DAS to achieve my full ‘big bike’ licence and found VBS to be professional, friendly, fun, flexible and approachable from beginning to end. There advice was great and it never felt they were just after making money from me. I came out of the training with only 2 minors on my mod 1 and no minors on my mod 2, passing both first time. This is largely due to the patient and knowledgeable training I received from the person I dealt with and the rest of the team at VBS.
Thank you for your kind words. It's been a pleasure. You listened, put into practice what we said, and reaped the rewards of an excellent pass. Well done you! Now, go out and enjoy your riding.

Brilliant! Roll On Spring Time :)
I went to VBS based on its location, a recommendation from many years ago and a look at their website which looks very professional, is very informative and includes many positive reviews. So to add to those reviews, here is mine:-
Having passed my CBT and covered 1500 miles on my 125 I decided it was time to make the step-up to a ‘big bike’. From the initial phone call to the day I passed my Mod2 the VBS team were brilliant. I was able to fit my lessons in around my shifts at work, there was no pressure. The lessons were well structured, plenty of consistent safe advice, practise time at the test centre for Mod1 and lots of encouragement on the rides around Blackburn / Darwen.
So, a massive thank you to all the people I dealt with. To one guy in particular, you’re a star, thank you for your endless patience and unfailing sense of humour.
Still can’t believe I passed my Mod1 and Mod2 first time - down to you guys! Thank you xxxxx
Thank you. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your time with us and that you passed the two Modules first time.
Like many other things in life, you get out of it what you put in and you certainly put in the effort, turning up on your bike, having your lesson, then riding off back home on your bike - all in the depths of winter!
Well done you. Enjoy your riding and call in for a brew whenever you're passing.

Excellent School And Professional Instructors
Only took up motorcycle riding at 50++ of age. I was fair weather only rider having spent 3 years riding around on concurrent cbt's so decided to go for full license. Tried a two hour 650cc training session at another school but my confidence was knocked down by an instructors' method of teaching.
Dropped in to the person I dealt with at VBS a couple of year later for an informal chat and decided to give it another go. I found all the instructors very relaxed and friendly. They actually listen to your queries and give constructive feedback, more often with humour, but really reinforced your confidence. ( Like the Hornby train set analogy). I trained as and when time permitted and was fortunate to have sessions with all 3 instructors so picked up a spectrum of excellent riding and safety tips from experienced professional trainers. Enjoyed the rapport and shared experiences with other students and staff alike. Loved riding on the clear sunny days over the moors to Darwen more than riding over in the rain, or misty foggy morning at 3C for my successful Mod 2! but - hey ho I am now a safe and more competent convert from fair weather only riding.
Would definitely recommend VBS to anyone looking to add the A category to their license.
Thank you Lyon. It is always good to know that we're doing things right and that our efforts are appreciated. You're right about the Hornby but, in my day, it was a Tri-ang (LOL). We are very fortunate to have such lovey scenery in and around Rossendale, glad you enjoyed it.
Stay safe out there and call in when you're passing. Kettle is always on. Text first as we're usually out and about.

Best Instructors Out There!
Valley Bike School are quite simply incredible.
Having turned up as a completely clueless novice I was taken right through to Mod 2...Passing first time despite my best efforts!
I was trained by several different instructors which worked out great, all had different styles but all with the same goal, to train you to ride as safely as possible. But with plenty of laughs along the way.
After a career in the army I have seen plenty of instructors, some great, but plenty terrible. I can genuinely say that the VBS team are amongst the best I have ever seen.
Thanks for putting up with me guys.
Thank you.
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up reading your review.
We are humbled by your review. It is taking people like you, complete novices through to becoming safe riders that makes our job worthwhile.
