I passed my CBT a few years ago, the instructor i believe was the same person as described in the first review.

I can agree with most of the critics in that this instructor is prone to verbal outbursts.

Despite his unorthodox methods and direct manner i enjoyed the day and passed my CBT.

After that day i decided to use the instructor for further instruction however after contacting him recently i found out that he has retired .

This is a shame because John is a great instructor ,i know other riders that trained with John and they all speak fondly of him, other reviews on the internet also run John and Bikerite down , all i can say is that i liked and respected John because i could see that all he wanted to do was to make a good safe motorcycle rider out of you and if that involved a bit of old school shouting and a**e kicking so be it.

I recently did my CBT and picked their name out of yell. I was really looking forward to it and unfortunately had a really miserable day.

The instructor had no patience, angrily shouted at me when I got anything wrong and patronized me. To such a point that I had ringing in my ears all evening from his constant shouting through my headset. He also threatened me with 'his boot up my a**e if I made anymore mistakes' It was my first time on the road on a bike which on its own is very stressful and to have him bawling at me at the roadside was incredible. He is a mature instructor, clearly the organisation he works for doesn't assess his ability to get on with the young trainees.

I was in two minds to ride off home and forget the whole thing but I had to get my ticket so I could start riding my new bike on the road. My parents have advised me to contact the professional organisation he works for and complain.

Its just a shame I am the first to review Pure Control as if I new what to expect I would have been using someone else.
