My Bolwell Ariba Sx 125 Is A Fun Bike To Ride. Ver
My Bolwell Ariba SX 125 is a fun bike to ride. Very thirsty on the petrol and your pit-stops are going to be many, as you will get about 140k/m per tank. Starts easy, steers well but becomes unstable quickly if the road is loose. Good bike on paved and smooth roads in good condition.
At a price of $4000.00 second hand this, in my opinion, is very poor choice for money. I cannot see $4000.00 in this scooter.
I love the bike and I enjoy riding it but you need to consider the downfalls of it before you purchase it. I STRONGLY ADVISE that you HIRE A SCOOTER for the day and really ride it before you commit to purchasing it.
Have fun and I hope this information was useful to you.
I've had a Bolwell Arriba for about 4 weeks now, and in a better position to comment as it is run in. (Done about 850k's).
Fuel economy is around 30 -35 km's per litre. Start looking for a servo at 190km's!!
The Arriba is an 80km/h cruiser - just about anywhere. Good for 100 - 110 on the flat, but not suitable for constant freeway work - but OK for the odd jaunt - you won't be a mobile traffic chicane!
A good headwind will knock 5 km/h off the speeds. (I'm 110kg)
Quick off the lights to 80km/h - no probs getting to the front and leading the pack off at the lights.
Its size is excellent - big bike, great space on the floor and excellent leg room.
Build quality is excellent - better than the Bug I had.
Brilliant quad lighting system for being seen, but not that good for seeing.
Mirrors are a little narrow though. Rear brake is typical drum. Front disk is excellent if you give a heave ho!!
>Both together hard and you will stop QUICKLY!!
Champion bike for commuting - city, arterial and the odd freeway stint.
Mine was $4000 Aussie Dollars on the road, brand new.
