Hares Rustington, Worthing

Went in having not replaced the coolant cap correctly after a top up. Was told gasket was shot and £900 repair. 2 other independent mechanics checked the car and it just needed the coolant topped up and the cap replaced.

Hares had already taken the air filter off as I was initially going to go ahead with the work. Fortunately a phone call from a friend told me to take the car elsewhere for a check. Hares charged £80 to refit the air filter and refill the coolant , which i might add was to the incorrect mix of water and coolant, being mostly water where the car spec states 50 -50. I certainly will never use them again
