Dick Lovett BMW, Wiltshire

Without doubt the worst main dealer experience ever, avoid at all costs. Car returned from routine oil change with broken door lock. Despite evidence showing car was broken by engineer, D1ck Lovett Melksham proceeded to offer consistent poor customer service to remedy. At one point there was a chance i was looking to part ex for a new BMW and they couldn't even get that right. In fairness the free tea and coffee and marble floors mean they must be doing something right.... although the car i was looking at it is still for sale...

I bought a used BMW series 1 black softtop from T at D Lovett Swindon last month. I want to say thank you for the excellent service I've received. I expect that pre-sale but the post sale experience has been nothing short of wonderful too!

I was pleased with the price we agreed at, and with the warranty; the car was ready for me when T told me it would be - both for test drive and to collect. He answered all my questions and when I asked for the second key, had one cut for me at no extra cost. The wind deflector listed in the sales spec wasn't with the car, but T remembered and couriered it to me this week. The rear view mirror fell off, and I had a couple of concerns with the roof mechanism and windows - although I took it to my nearest BMW dealer, D Lovett covered all the costs despite the items not being included in the warranty.

All in all, I would recommend this dealer, and T in particular, I am a very pleased customer!

I bought an approved used car from D Lovett Swindon few weeks ago. The car has a faulty wiper blade which makes screeching noise when using plus a de aligned steering wheel, unsure how this was missed under their so many points checks ? They ve asked me to take the car to a local BMW dealer which I did on their advice. When the delar quoted a price for them to pay for the work they have refused and now wants the car to be brought in at Swindon store which is 2 hours away from where I live.

Promised someone from the service department would call me.. Still waiting no call yet.

I won't recommend this dealer anyone.

I bought a 1 Series BMW from Dick-Lovett in Cribbs Causeway 2 and half years ago. I have since learned that all N47 engines built between 2007 & 2009 have chains fitted that break, and the cost of repairing it is anything between £2500 and £5000. WATCHDOG have contacted BMW because it has had so many complaints about this problem. It happening on new cars as well as ones that are a few years old. I have contacted Dick-Lovett and was told that I would have to have diagnosis carried out by them to see what is wrong with the car and would need to pay for this diagnosis (which I have already paid to have done in another garage). On top I would have to pay have the car towed to the dealer because the car is not drivable! I have already had the problem diagnosed and it is going to cost £4000 to repair so I can not afford to add the cost of a second diagnosis and towing to the bill and they can not even guarantee that they will be able to do anything anyway! I have made a decision after reading similar reviews on line about other people that have been in this situation that is it is unlikely BMW or Dick-Lovett will help anyway! Watchdog have asked BMW if this is a manufacturing fault that they should accept responsibility for but BMW of course deny this. I can only wonder why so many cars with the same engines are going so terribly wrong! The worst thing is that if you walk into a dealer now they would still sell you one knowing full well about the fault on these engines. There is a company called Prestige that now specialise in replacing the chain and rebuilding the engine because they have to repair so many of the N47 engines with broken chains!

Ive had three vehicles on a PCP (not my choice) Swindon continually tried to charge for extras, would deny any damage they caused and generally the worst customer service EVER. Took them to The Ombudsman and won my case as Head Office didn't care and would not help. Lets hope they end up bankrupt. I have three Mercedes now and receive excellent customer service from Swindon Mercedes.

Avoid at all cost, had my X3 in for a 'service' at BMW Dick Lovett in Swindon, they broke the brackets of my fuel filter and wanted me to come back and charge me £100 to repair it, also when replacing the pollen filter they did not clean the tray beneath (full of leaves) and forgot to fasten the clips, all of this for £420 and a 3 ½ Hour wait, my BMW is going to a independent BMW specialist next time.

I complained to BMW UK and was told to sort it out with the dealer as they don't care.
