CAR WENT IN FOR A CHECK ON A STABLE EML LIGHT AND CAME OUT AS A NON-DRIVER WITH FLASHING EML!

Totally shocked and disappointed that I had faith and trust in this garage to look at my sons car due to a stable EML light, the car was driving fine, no issues but we wanted further investigations to why the EML was on, then would go off for days/weeks then pop back on, again this did not affect the driving performance. Before taking it to DDR, the car was looked at by two of the most amazing and trustworthy garages Merc services and Orchard garage, again they was puzzled , did their investigations but could not find the fault, as it kept coming up with C3 misfire, they did not charge me anything. Merc services advised of DDR, so I booked it in, we drove 45 minutes in heavy traffic with no problems, the car has been used daily and the previous two garages wrote their reports. DDR contacted me and quoted £4027.00, which shocked us, so we decided that was to much, and we would collect the car, and decide a s family what to do next, knowing the car is still driving absolutely fine. To our disappointment and deceit from DDR we collected the car, I drove my 18 year old to get it, and I left, for my son to follow behind, after 10-15 minutes I could not see my son, My son was so scared as the car failed to drive , was jugging, making noises, jerking and stopped driving with a now flashing EML night-never saw this before! We tried to call the garage but no one picked up the phone, I left messages and contacted them. The car has been investigated by DDR and has come out worse then when it went in, and this is not ok or acceptable, as a garage the car should be handed back as it came to you DDR, whether a customer wants to have the woks carried out or not, the fact you given me my car back as a non runner now after your investigations is poor service and under the consumers rights act 2015, you have breached the Consumer Rights Act 2015 as you failed to carry out their service with reasonable care and skill, making my car worse and now a non runner which is now being taken legally further , unless you resolve this by today as it is your responsibility as you have obviously damaged my car further. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Complaints are going to Trading standard, their local MP and sent to the news article as I will not have any company try to push blame or give me back my car in this state when I dropped it to them driving normally!

Exceptionally Professional!

DDR is excellent! The team are so professional! They are kind, patient and very transparent. My car had major issues however they supported me to sort out each of them at my pace, with alot of patience and professionalism. I would definitely recommend them and they have a client in me for a lifetime!

Fantastic Customer Service!

I’ve had real trouble getting wiper blades for my Mercedes I tried Halfords which was an absolute shambles from start to finish! Found DDR on google and called to see if they could help had a call back within 5 minutes of leaving a message to be told they could have them in that afternoon and the exact price which I might add was cheaper than I was charged at Halfords! I arrived around 4pm new blades fitted in 5 minutes the customer service of the gentleman I dealt with was fantastic I will definitely be returning. Thank you again for your help.

Trustworthy Garage- Sl55 Amg Service

I have been coming to DDR for over 8 years to have my Wife's E350 Cdi serviced. I have always found the owner and staff to be friendly and honest. I started using them after suffering truly abysmal service from more than one Mercedes main dealers. They have diagnosed and fixed various faults on the E350 over the years. I just took my '03 SL55 AMG for its 2yr interval A service, plus a gearbox oil change and Brake fluid renewal. I also had the 16 spark plugs changed. I have only had this car just under 2 years, and was interested to know its over-all condition as a 20year old supercar. I was advised the engine mounts were at the end of their service life, and that doing the gearbox mounts too would be sensible. The driveshaft rubber linkage was also advised as it had some age related wear. This was expected on a car of this age. All the work was detailed fully in advance, there was no pressure to have it done, and a detailed cost break-down was given. The owner and I discussed the car at length, and it is obvious he is not only a very experienced Mercedes Engineer but also a proper car enthusiast.. my visits to DDR are always a pleasant experience. In 8 years I have never had any experience of them pushing for unnecessary work. I would always trust DDR, and recommend them to my friends. I will keep using them as long as I own a Mercedes.

Beware: Attempt To Charge For Unnecessary Work

Beware! This company's website displays nothing but 5* reviews, however, my first-time experience was far from even 1*. I booked my ML in with DDR for service & MOT which was due 2 weeks and was told to bring it in on the MOT expiry date: (My 1st mistake). The vehicle has an impeccable full-service history and was checked over before being given to DDR so that I could put right any potential faults/failures that would cause an MOT failure; there were none. Dropped vehicle off at DDR and mentioned the full history most of which was online and that last year it had full B service and was told: "Leave it with us we'll ring you and tell you what it needs" (Mistake 2). Late afternoon I received a phone call from DDR stating that there was no service book in the vehicle so they assumed it had none (They failed to check MB's online history), so they carried out the B service which identified work that needs doing, in addition, it had failed its MOT. They informed me of a list of items they considered required repair and quoted over £3,000 in parts and labour and sought authorisation to carry out the work, clearly in the belief that I would have no alternative as the MOT had expired. I refused and attended their garage where the vehicle was on a ramp. They pointed out what they considered the "faults/failures". I know a lot about MB cars and questioned their decision-making as it was clear that they were quoting for work which did not need doing. After our discussion, they admitted that they had not checked the service history, that the service they had carried out amounted to an A service (oil service and checks) and duly reduced the price to just over £300, commenting "we know you're unhappy and don't want you to leave feeling that we've tried to sham you " Really??? ...that's exactly what they did try to do. I now had to contend with a vehicle with no MOT, so I took the vehicle to a reputable and experienced MB specialist who examined the vehicle and DDR fault list. They confirmed that the work quoted by DDR, save for the corroded rear brake lines was unnecessary. I had work to the break lines carried out £420), and the vehicle re-MOT'd and it passed. A disgraceful attempt by DDR to quote serious money for unnecessary work. Be warned when dealing with this garage!!!

Thank you for this review, I am shocked at this garage, my son who is 18 took his car in to be looked at with me on Tuesday 30-09-2025, drives perfectly well, and previously checked by two other garages but could not understand why the EML was on-NOT FLASHING, so we were told to take it to DDR, again 45 minute drive no issues with the running of the car, just a C£ misfire on reading previously. When we left the car with DDR garage the car was fine, we just wanted an update on the EML light, to my shock they called and quoted 4027.00 so we of course would not pay that and would take for another view on it, and came to to collect the car, can you believe it that when my 18 year son came to get it and started to drive the car home, the car was jerking, bobbing, making noises and EML dflasing on and off like crazy, he got so scared he was calling me as I was in my car, and had to turn round call for help to get our car home, as when we called DDR no one picked up the phone as they were closed. I took my sons car in that he pays for and still is and now the car that was in DDR gagare is not drivable, they have obsiouly done something to the car, the worst thing is they knew and they feel they giving the car back in worse position than when it came in is acceptable, absolutely not. They will need to collect the car, and put it back to how I brought it in, not broken and yes I am taking it further, I will not tolerate lies, or deceitfulness,the car should be given back to me in the same way as I handed it to them, they obviously have done something and tried to fob it off and say sell it quick today, no way. Justice will be served as I've now sought legal advice, and spoke to trading standards and made a formal complaint against them. They will not get away with this.

Absolutely Amazing!!!!

I had shifting issues with my CLS 350 cdi 2011, called up DDR after reading the positive reviews online. All I can say is they have exceeded my expectations. The person I dealt with was very professional and took upmost care of my car. Performed a software update for me and adoptions to the gear changes. The car feels brand new again. No hidden charges, no excuses, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I am 100% convinced that no one can take better care of my car than the guys at DDR. They have won a customer for life and I would recommend everyone who owns a Mercedes to use DDR for anything related to their car. Very impressed!!!

Fantastic Service!

I've owned Mercedes for years, but always used main dealers for repairs/service. A friend recommended DDR for a couple of bits I needed looking at on my CLS. The guys there could not be more helpful. Polite, clearly know their stuff, and great value for money. Can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks to DDR - better then any main dealer I've used!

Excellent Service, On Time And Great Price

Booked my Mercedes GLC250 with DDR for major service. Booked online, vehicle picked up and dropped home when work completed free of charge. Great, friendly service without rip off dealer prices (DDR price was 45% lower than local Mercedes dealership). I will be returning to DDR in future - Happy customer!

Excellent Service Yet Again!

I have used DDR for various repairs and services on mine and my other half's cars.

The guys always offer knowledgable, practical and impartial advice. They will also go out of their way to be helpful and clearly know what they're doing.

Highly recommended and a friendly bunch of guys.

Excellent...!

2nd Service on the 2018 E220cdi. A problem did arise as they sometimes do, however its the Customer Service you recieve to rectify these upsets which counts. The guy I dealt with went out of his way with his own time and effort to resolove it, and in doing so has secured a long-term relationship with me in furtue buisness.

Well done the Lads at DDR.
