I had a problem with my bmw e46 3 series, it kept causing the traction control DSC light to come on whilst driving, it was driving me insane.

I went into a local dealer and they advised I would need a complete new sterring angle sensor fitted and caliberated and it was going to cost me a arm and a leg!!

This was essential to resolve as the dealer told me when the light is on I have no safety whatsoever and in bad weather the car could be dangerous to drive.

I didnt get the part changed from the dealer due to the expense, I instead Googled for local garages to resolve this issue. During my Googling, I found BMW diagnostic wolverhamption, they were based 15 miles from me, and after emailing and calling them the chap explained that in many cases a new part is not needed and the existing steering angle sensor just needs recaliberating.

He also advised I get the cars tracking done before coming to see him, as it would provide much better results. I did exactly that, and the visit itself took no more than half hour, and my lights were gone on the dash, the DSC was working again, (the button didnt work before) and my car now feels SAFE to drive again! The value for money was outstanding saved me a few hundred quid!!
