Took my car in for an MOT recently. They rang to say that all 4 brake pipes were excessively corroded and the total bill would be £300. On collecting the car they presented me with a bill for £341. When I queried this they just treated me like an idiot and fobbed me off saying the quote was on the computer system so it's impossible for them to have told me the wrong price. I have subsequently learned that it was very unlikely indeed that the work needed to be carried out. 4 excessively corroded brake pipes on a car 5 years old and less than 30,000 miles. Apparently this is virtually unheard of and even if the work did need doing the price is very excessive anyway. Basically they completely ripped me off.
