Arley Hill Garage

My car had a minor mis-firing problem. Luckily I know a reasonable amount about cars and had a fairly good idea what the problem was. Took it into Arley Hill Garage - first time I had used it - as it is near where I work and explained the problem. They obviously assumed that because I was wearing a suit I was born yesterday and knew nothing about vehicle mechanics.

Went back later in the day and was given a total crock of clap-trap suggesting that the head gasket had blown (oh not that old chestnut AGAIN)and it would minimum £750.00 to investigate. I politely declined and took the car away.

After a proper garage had checked the diagnostics for me and verified what the problem was (one of the ignition coil packs) I bought and fitted the part myself - total cost £45.00 - and it has been running perfectly ever since.

If you are unsure or not confident about car repairs then I urge you not to use this garage as they totally stitch you up.
