Not As Described

The website clearly states that a fixing mechanism is included, well it isn't. There are holes in the mats, where the fixings go through, but not the mechanism. I have contacted them about this and they just say no the mechanisms are NOT included " contact a main dealer and try to get them from there". So you will have to lay out more money. The mats, particularly the drivers, should be fixed down and they are not safe to use if just laid in position.

I have requested a refund / return TWICE and they just ignore me, no response at all.

The mats are not as described and, in my opinion, they are not fit for purpose.

I recommend going elsewhere for mats.

Poor Quality, Poor Customer Service

The quality and fit of these mats is very poor for the price. I bought a set of their 'Premium' mats for a BMW 3 series, the most expensive they offer, with the promise of luxurious deep twist pile.

First - the colour. Black. Can't go wrong with black. Nope, they are a shiny nylon which actually looks more like a grey fleck. When queried, I was told not to look at them in direct sunlight! I took this piece of poor customer service as a sign that I would not get much joy here.

I required the 2 x Velcro fitting for my car. The Velcro fitting is a small piece of Velcro tape at each side. After a week of driving, the tape has come unstuck from the back of the carpet and the mats slide forward dangerously under the pedals. I keep lifting and pressing the Velcro to the back of the mats, but will have to glue eventually.Terrible.

The luxurious pile of their top end mats is er... average at best. It's not deep, or luxurious. You can buy far better mats at Halfords for less money.

I feel fairly badly treated by Ultimate Car Mats, as their mats are anything but 'Ultimate', and their service was very slow. I have attempted to remedy this with them, but they are very much at the defensive and confrontational end of the customer service spectrum. I'd avoid and shop somewhere that values your continued custom and views, rather than grabbing your money once - just once

Not Great - Would Not Recommend Or Use Again

I wanted a set of 4 car mats for a nearly 2 year old Mazda CX5 (Mazda's dealer supplied supposed 'luxury' drivers side carpet had worn completely through in about 18 months!!)

I wanted a top quality replacement and paid over £60 for Ultimate Car Mats'Superior' carpet mats with a rubber heel pad option on the drivers mat.

FOR:-

1 - carpet material is a heavy tufted material as described

2 - delivery was as promised by supplier

3 - all 4 mats fit very well

AGAINST:-

1 - the edge trim wasn't well finished at all, unevenly sewn and cotton strands hanging off

2 - the plastic rings to attach the 2 front mats to the plastic pins in the car floor were completely hopeless, would not connect to the pins. They might possibly have worked OK on thinner cheaper grade carpet but I doubt it.

Rather than mess about returning the mats I decided to take off the fittings and reuse the ones from the original carpets, this worked great on the drivers side mat, when it came to the passenger side I found the 2 holes cut in the mat were WAY TOO BIG. I couldn't be bothered to try and complain or return the mats so I glued patches to the back of the passenger carpet and made a correctly size hole to take the original plastic rings. Hopefully this DIY job will last?!

Come on Ultimate Car Mats, if you are going to charge a premium price for your top of the range car mats pay attention to the details like the finish of the trims and the connectors you supply to attach them to the car floors.

Sub Standard Car Mats

If you are thinking of buying Ultimate car mats don't. We ordered the luxury car mats from Ultimate Car Mats but on receipt found them to be of very poor quality. They are very thin and feel like cardboard. On contacting the company we were told that as we had requested a red trim this constituted a special order so we weren't entitled to a refund. I believe as the quality is so poor and we are definitely not happy with them we should have been given a total refund. The company offered 50% off our next order which is a joke as I wouldn't order from them again.

I Wish I Had Read The Reviews On This Site Before Buying

I wanted red mats to match my car colour. Having Googled car mats I found that UCM had red available but only in the, so called, 'Luxury' grade, which is described as 900gm/M2 twist pile carpet. To be fair the ordering process and delivery time could not be faulted and the mats arrived within a week. However, what I received were far from Luxury and are very cheap looking mats with virtually no pile, in fact the edge binding is higher than the surface of the mats. What little pile there is seems to be of looped construction rather than twist and is nowhere near 900gm/M2. Having complained to UCM I was advised that they could not accept returns of custom made mats, even though they did not meet the advertised specification but I was offered a partial refund, which I managed to tweak up a bit more. In the end, after several emails, I got reasonable value for what I paid, post refund but I didn't get the Luxury mats that I actually wanted.

Good Fit And Quality But Strong Smell. Buyer Beware!

Generally happy with the rubber mats as far as the quality and fit goes. The delivery time was also good. The only criticism I have of the product is that there is a very strong smell, which is still there 4 days after delivery. I hope it will fade in time but there are loads of suggestions for deodorizing rubber mats on the web, so I may try one of those.

I had rashly ordered the car mats before reading the bad reviews so I was worried, especially when I realised that the company doesn't give its address or telephone number on either its website or the VAT receipt(which is a legal requirement, I believe). I would probably not have ordered the mats if I'd checked this beforehand - I'm usually more careful.

The lack of contact information rather suggests they may have something to hide so I wouldn't recommend the company for this reason. You don't actually know who you'e doing business with.

Sub-standand , Wrong Colour And Waited 18 Days .awful Mats.

After waiting patiently for these to come what a disappointment, absolute rubbish. Wrong colour ,iron on personal logo which is already lifting at edges.Ordered the classic and iv got the the standard rubbish that i could have got at a market for a fraction of the price. So angered by this poor, poor product i looked for a contact number to complain alas no number .....how dodgy is that?? Havnt even taken them to car to see if they fit which i doubt they will. £53 DOWN THE DRAIN .What to do next?? Matt Alright at ROGUE TRADERS will be getting a call,,this isnt acceptable to keep doing this to people . Wish i had read the reviews as i normally do. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Good Service

The mats that I ordered for my Skoda superb arrived in good time. I felt that the quality was good an In line with what I expected. The were a great fit in the car, much better than the mats the dealer had supplied. There was an issue with the mats jumping off the floor studs. I emailed the company and asked if they had heard of similar problems which they said they hadn't and offered to send a second set of connects that push onto the floor studs which they did and they arrived a couple of days later. A quick change of the connectors and the mats are now perfect. Delivered as advertised, of a quality I was expecting and a small problem put right within a couple of days with great service and communication. I would recommend on my experience of this company.

Q&A

Jakethecar

Does anyone know the official name and address of this company?

Jakethecar

It's okay, I found it myself. They trade also as SimplyCarMats.co.uk. The reviews on that company are even worse than on UltimateCarMats, which are already difficult to achieve, they are so bad. This is a company to AVOID!!!!
