Coachman Pastiche 535/4

After a dispute that has now lasted nearly two years on our 2011 Pastiche. Coachman are refusing to negotiate or reply to correspondence, Regarding our toilet that wasn't fitted correctly plus a shower that doesn't drain as it should and two engineers reports that confirm the problems and how to rectify them we are still no further on.

The toilet was poorly fitted so that when being used it created a gap between the underside of the toilet and the top of the cassette allowing foul fluids to flow over the cassette and fill the cassette compartment giving off a foul smell in the caravan.Checked by the toilet manufacturer and rectified by their specialist, they confirmed poor installation and I had to pay their costs Coachman are refusing to reimburse me.

Shower tray, I think Coachman are trying to change the nations habits. Normally after using the toilet we would wash our hands, with our caravan you get your feet washed as well. After use the shower tray doesn't drain completely, the water collects on the opposite side of the tray to the plug hole. Coachman's response is to site the caravan nose down!. To solve our problem it would have to be both nose down and the offside lifted higher. I am told that to do this would seriously affect the working of the fridge. What is the use of a five year warranty when the company is refusing to honour it. My last letter to them was sent 25/06/2012 and I am still waiting for a reply

Picked our 2011 coachman Laser 655/6 Friday 4 th Feb 2011 Noticed corrosion on A frame of chassis Told the salesman who said they had real bad weather ?Well when we got home did the normal Check it out,Well entrance door did not lock from inside or out, microwave door would not close, water pump so noisy could not hear yourself speak, scratches on front table, presented dirty, and back to the chassis which coachman dont return your messages as they promise, al-ko do not warrant this corrosion they call white rust, and the dealers reply is you have 5 years warranty.(its only 1 week old)Its a JOKE and im not leaving it here.

I cannot understand where Coachman get their reputation from!

Our first caravan, a brand new 2008 VIP 535/4, new blinds, new front central window, condensation and therfore a new front inner wall lining. Poorly made cabinet door which lets water penatrate and therfore blows the MDF. Did I mention the silver comming off the mirror after 2 years. Not it's not worth it because you only get 1 years warranty. I even had to move the alarm aerial as it can cause problems, according to Phantom.

Water in the rear light cluster. Inner panel seams which regularly need flattening out...oh these are covered for 3 years but the 190 mile round trip to get them done means they can wait til the next service.

Bitter you bet I am, all the work is judged without a Coachman employee seeing the problems and they don't even take notice of their recommended service agent...........I hope you don't get the service we've had.

This is our third Coachman in a row, the previous two having been the Pastiche 470/4 and the Pastiche 520/4. Having spent a whole day at the NEC Show looking at alternative makes, we had to admit that the Coachman was by far a better caravan than what others had to offer.

The 535/4 offers us a fixed-bed and heaps of Coachman luxury. What else do you need?!

Solidly built if heavy, doors and other fixtures feel solid and work without any teething problems. Coachman are vans that you buy and enjoy using knowing that it has reliability oozing everywhere!
