All In All, A Good Van For Local Work. Had An Esco
All in all, a good van for local work. Had an escort 55 van for years, this has stacks more room. As i car Valetor, I have added water tanks shelves and i can still get stacks more stuff in it. Dead Easy to work on.

Maybe I Was Just Unlucky, But My Vauxhall Combo Va
Maybe I was just unlucky, but my Vauxhall Combo van has been an utter mess. I was warned that these vans eat alternators and so it has. Pretty useless if you show it a hill. The engine looks like it was shovelled in and stamped on until it fitted.

Easy To Drive, Fairly Good Fuel Consumption - Load
Easy to drive, fairly good fuel consumption - loads of room in the back.
I was very happy with my van until both my CV joints worn out due to inproperly fitted gaiters after 4 years (was still under warranty when this first happened. Our local garage want over 1,000 to renew them. My partner's identical model van - CV Joint gaiters insecurely fitted (also within warranty) - Terrible customer service from our local dealership.

I've Had My Combo Now For Over 4 Years And Have Ju
I've had my combo now for over 4 years and have just bought a newer one (1.4 Petrol lpg conversion). The combo is perfect for the self employed tradesmen. It fits everything i need into it. I've owned several other vans, including a ford escort 55 van. The combo is much better than all except for its power and speed. Fully loaded it will take all my tools, cement mixer, scaffold boards etc, but put a few bags of plaster in as well it struggles!!
Occasionally I have had to replace things that wear out, but these have been cheap and easy to fit / find.
Like the previous review, I too have grown close to my combo, including tales which again, probably aren't suitable. But I will say it is very versatile!
I will still be keeping the M reg van for our joiner, but the ridiculous costs of diesel have made the lpg option seem worth it.

Ive Had My Vauxhall Combo 1700 4dr For 3 Years Now
Ive had my Vauxhall Combo 1700 4dr for 3 years now, bought it for £400 and it's been brilliant. In both cost of running, maintenance and reliability. My colleague has a 52 plate transit connect from new and that has broken time and time again. Ive not broken down once and MOTs have never been anything major or costly. I have learned that this largely down to the fact that I bought a 1994 (M-reg) Combo 1.7 Diesel which has been fitted with the Isuzu engine. Isuzu's are legendary for reliability and in my experience it's not a reputation that's undeserved. Economy wise it tends to be around 53mpg which ever way I drive it. I'm 25 with 0 no claims park it on a street and use it for work, social, pleasure and insure it for £324.76 a year fully comp and this includes contents cover in case I get my tools nicked! So it's a cheap a van as you're going to get really. I have lots of stories to tell with this van which are pretty irrelevant indulging in for this review, however it worth mentioning because I've come to see this as my old faithful workhorse I've developed an affinity for the old thing! Granted it's not as modern looking as most vans now, but I'll wager you'll still be seeing me on the road in mine whilst all these new vans are in the scrapper!
Plenty of room in the back saves a lot of dosh on B & B's hee hee hee, and the van is good too.
Hi,Ur review is quite helpful.I m 25 male with 0 yrs claim bonus looking to buy combo. As u wrote about ur insuarance it seems quite cheap as the figures i am getting are around 1600 ponds for comp.any suggestions on which insurer should i go with.
Thanks a lot

My Vauxhall Combo 1700 4dr Van Is Generally Reliab
My Vauxhall Combo 1700 4dr van is generally reliable, although not recommended for long journeys as it's a bit underpowered but for local work it's good.
Q&A
My 1.7 combo won't idle and revs on its own. Does anyone know why this is happening?
