I Have Always Had Transits, First And Second Gener

I have always had transits, first and second generation, and now the new shape. I bought the van from a main dealer at 3 years old with 60k. It had a new clutch and flywheel. So far - I've done 10k, about half of that towing 1300kg - it seems fine, although it's a bit difficult to get 1st gear sometimes from a standstill, hot or cold. mpg without towing seems pretty constant at about 30, even on the motorway at 65 - I would have expected a bit more. My overall impression is that build quality is down a bit on previous tranny's - starting to look at sprinters, but mainly as I fancy a change.

My Ford Transit Has Had Two Clutches By Eleven Tho

My Ford Transit has had two clutches by eleven thousand miles as I couldn't get first or reverse gear when the engine was cold. The third clutch started playing up after only a few thousand miles and then the master cylinder went and i was informed this could have been the problem and i didn't need a new clutch fitting and it was under warranty anyway. Just took the van to have the third clutch replaced after twenty thousand miles as I cant get first or reverse clutch now the weather has turned cold and the dealership have told me I will have to pay for the new clutch as the old one is worn. The vehicle is still in warranty, what kind of warranty is it? Does any body have the same problem with the clutch in the cold? I have a new transit on order. Is this problem still there, should i cancel my order?

Over all it has been a good van, but Ford still don't care about the loyal customers. Is it time to change brands.

Generally The Ford Transit 350 Mwb Mr 90bhp Good V

Generally the Ford Transit 350 MWB MR 90bhp good van. However bought van with only 20K on clock. At 31K had to fit new clutch. Ford had `modified` clutch assembly, needed to have new flywheel fitted as well as clutch assembly, nearly £750 at ford dealer. 51K and just having another clutch fitted. Ford dealer comment was "Dont`t expect clutches to last more than 25K when towing" Think I`ll get a new mot and get rid!!
