Having Owned By Berlingo For 4 Years And Having Do
Having owned by Berlingo for 4 years and having done over 100k over the 50k when i bought it, I must say I've been impressed with its performance and reliability overall. I am still using her every day as a courier and am only now having to spend to keep her going. Engine still runs like a dream although the cam pulley bearing has just gone at a cost of £120. Does tend to go through brake discs and pads and had to have a new air-intake valve but at no great cost. Cambelt kit changes at each 100k but dont get these fitted at a dealership, you'll pay £200 over the odds. Inside the cab the furnishing are very low spec and various components tend to loosen and rattle after a time. Overall: Great reliable little van, good economy and will go forever when looked after.

Footprint Of A Standard Saloon With The Carrying C
Footprint of a standard saloon with the carrying capacity of a small van. Great for people with hobbies, dogs or in need of a football changing room for kids - the tailgate acts as a roof and kids can stand up in the back.
Load capacity is far better than the Renault Kangoo and what I have been able to carry inside is almost legendary - notably a 900 mile trip to France with a desk, table and packed interior and a trailer with two sofas, wooden chest and 3 fence panels and poles. Negligible difference in mpg over going on family holiday at slightly higher speeds (10mph? without a trailer)
It's economical and very economical to buy and run - similar to many small cars and the 1.8 petrol and 2.0 diesel models I have owned have similar driving characteristics and cruise easily on the motorway - great for those long journeys to the south of France. Interior storage was good too.
Side doors slide so kids do not hit cars in the car park - good to get in and out on ferries and older people really like the ease to get in and out fore and aft. Plenty of room for me to sit in the back with children to keep them amused and still see out to navigate for the driver.
I am really in favour of this car if you do anything other than going to and from work with your car. There is bags of room, costs are reasonable as smaller cars, drives well and has plenty of pull if you need to tow.
I have had two of these petrol and a more economical diesel and I am going to buy another. My only regret is that they no longer do the cabriolet version like my first Berlingo - the ultimate sunroof - 2cv style as well!

Overall The Citroen Berlingo 800td 2.0hdi Could Be
Overall The Citroen Berlingo 800TD 2.0HDi could be good but is far from it.
Fuel economy is better than 1.9D, plus there is more power.Reliability is poor with turbo problems and poor brakes.
This model is an Enterprise version.
