I Have Purchased A Toyota Mr2 2003 Spyder With Smt
I have purchased a Toyota MR2 2003 Spyder with SMT and all available options at a substantial price over sticker price. The car has been in the shop more than 1/2 the time I have owned it with many problems that no one is (seemingly) qualified to fix.
The car is dangerous to drive as the transmission frequently has "popped" out of gear while driving in traffic and the engine dies sometimes unable to be re-started. The dealer has no idea what they are doing so they swap the ECU due to they couldn't find the codes in the book. Then they don't reprogram the ECU because they didn't know about the service bulletins that had been out for months. On and on...
Sorry you got a lemon but from what I know your car is rare. Mine preforms flawlessly - find another dealer
Sorry to hear about the trouble you've had, I love my car its incredible
