Mercedes Benz SLK 200 Kompressor

I have bought Brand New SLK200K car on finance deal for 3 years 12 days ago and less than 24 hours, Car studdenly stopped on Busy M6 Motoryway and luckily a serious accident was avoid as lorry behind made an emergency stopped. After Several hours of calls to dealers, Merc and other people, SLK was take back to Garage for repair and I was told GEAR BOX UNIt is Faulty.

Brand new car and faulty in GEAR BoX unit, and my dreams were shattered as I saved up for it for so many year and I bought this car to celebrate my graduation as Surgeon which turned into a disappointment after this incident.

AS to exercise my rights, I rejected the reparied car BUT I have not been treated well at all. Merecedes saying they are not replacing the CAR and they have reparied it. Unless it breaks down more than once and faults cannot be reparied Then Mercedes will consider to replace not at one FAULT

I have no faith to drive that repaired CAR as I am totally stressed about it as I would have died when it stopped or seriously injured or anyting. I cannot beleive my BRAND new car Broke Down and I do not have RIGHT to get replace it.

Anybody can what should I do. If I reject the finance DEAL they ask me to pay the value of car back.

so I am stressed more. More disappoiting is treatment by Mercedes to customer service., Nobody in Mercedes chased me to ensure My trust get restored in car and in Mercedes.

any help or suggestion.

I have read reviews of evverybody and did have dream to drive Merc but now my families and friends after listening to my story, dont want to buy Merc

Lovely looking car - very stylish. Great to drive although on B roads quite a hard drive! Enjoy having the roof down, very little breeze and a very simple operation to put roof up or down - good technology here!

Would definitely recommend this car to anyone looking for a sports car as you have the best of both worlds - hard roof for the winter and at the switch of a botton no roof! A bit expensive, but, hopefully being a Mercedes the price tag will warrant reliability.

The only down- side is limited boot space, but I knew that before I purchased.

I am really enjoying this car & look froward to many happy & safe years motoring.

Love the solidness of european cars, heavy doors and firm interior. Great acceleration.

A bit creaky with the top up. Brakes feel a bit insecure on rough asphalt.

Would recommend a Mercedes Benz to anyone, the best purchase I have ever made. Fun, exhiliterating and a pleasure to drive.

Good fun to drive especially when pushed hard. Build quality is rock solid. Feels very safe and secure. Roof is very quite and have had no problems. Air scarf and heated seats are worth the money as you can have the roof down even in winter.

Some say its not a real sports car but who cares when it look as good as this.

Just bought the wife a Mercedes Benz SLK 200 Kompressor. I've been buying Mercedes for as long as I can remember and after getting myself an SLK 55, she who holds the purse strings decided she fancied a new car. I wasn't about to buy her a 55 so we compromised on this. She likes it and I've saved £30 Grand. Job done Mercedes.

At the risk of a backlash from the WI or Germaine Greer, the SLK 200 is a nice car, but very much one for the girls......
