Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG

Ive just sold my AMG which I have owned since 2007.

The car is absolutely gorgeous to look at and drive with blistering performance to boot.

However there have been a lot of problems and all of them seem to come to a magic AMG figure of £1,000. Nearly every time I have had to take her in for a problem its usually about £1,000.

I had a problem with the supercharger not kicking in if you booted the car it would kick in but then if you tried again it wouldn't work. Turned out to be a sensor of some description but they recommended changing the spark plugs also... bill £1,000.

Another problem was the boot suddenly not closing, well not without you having to slam as hard as possible to make it shut, this also coincided with the massaging seats not working. - Final diagnosis was a faulty vacuum bump or a split in the piping... you've guessed it, £1,000.

Dont let these things put you off, it may be I just had a Friday afternoon car and apart from these things and the ridiculous fuel economy as you would expect the car is stunning.

Nolens Volens, there is NO car on the market that can even fathom neither challenging nor contending with this pulchritudinously vicious, covetously nonpareil legendary paragon! I was bestowed fabled serendipity, finding my at Encino MB, having it shipped to DC, unseen and undriven. Needless to say for an immaculately pristine CPO with 37K miles, it was the deal of a lifetime for $39K! I wake up 2 hours early everyday, just so I can hit the streets top down and pander and possess the most foxiest gorgeous girls on their way to work! Make no mistake about it, this car is the ultimate "Ladykiller"! There is NO other car that can out class, out style, out perform, out option, out cosset, or out pimp the divinely omnipotent SL55!

Great performance, IMO most suited to smoother roads, eats motorways, any 2 tonne car is likely to wear out suspension bushes, tyres, brakes etc at an alarming rate.

Expensive to maintain, ridiculous parts costs...still love it

Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG- magnificent sound, roof down at the drop of a hat, very practical...looks are amazing... comfy, spacious cabin.

Drove my dad's Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG for my first car. High on the insurance but who cares when you got money. Great car, strongly recommend and after buying mine new for 98K I wish I spent 50K on a 2 year old one. No bad points really, had mine tuned to over 700 BHP so often the tires needed replacing but that was it really.

I highly recommend this car to all who want both style and performance- HOLD on TIGHT as she will rip through the AMG engine and catapult your arse from point a to point b in no time- By far the best car I have ever owned and driven.
