Mercedes Benz CL 55 AMG

Having owned my CL55AMG for several months I can now seriously say I LOVE IT!

Each & every time I slide into the leather sports seats and fire up the monster V8 my stomach loops the loop.

This is a fantastic piece of machinery, having been around £95K new, I purchased the vehicle with 58k miles on the clock and in beautiful condition for around £15,500.

I have had such pleasure driving this amazing car.

If you don't respect the power you will find yourself in trouble, in the wet you must feed the power in oh so gently, the ESP will look after you but even so it is a beast, yet driven sedately the Merc performs with grace & style, gliding through town is a pleasure, hit the open road and bam the wolf leaps out.

The Supercharged V8 howls like a banshee when the throttle is hit hard, floor the pedal and you will hang on for dear life muttering under your breath in awe of the brutal acceleration.

The AMG is really comfortable and has lots of great features.

I paced the carpet for weeks thinking should I shouldn't I buy this wonderful beast, in the end my wife took me to one side and said stop thinking of reasons not to buy it and concentrate on reasons you should ! I'm so pleased I did.

The Mercedes Benz CLK 55 AMG is a real supercar with 180+ mph performance if derestricted and 0-60 in 5 seconds. It comes with all the bells and whistles and will blow your socks off. It's ESP traction control system makes it almost foolproof in even the most inexperienced hands. Buy a laser tracker and road angel though otherwise your licence is at risk :)

Poor points are the very sharp ride quality - passengers will complain frequently and of course the price - £62k with the extras is an awful lot of money for a 2 door car, even if it is a CLK - remember you are effectively paying 20 grand just for the engine.

If you can afford it then go for it - it's as fast as an M3 but less likely to be stolen or vandalised. But don't sell the wife for one - you might just be disappointed with the day to day ride you get.
