I Am Proud To Say That I Currently Am An Owner Of
I am proud to say that I currently am an owner of a pre owned extremely rare 2003 Acura CL Type S 6 speed. It was a one owner, no accidents, with 42,000 miles (a puppy). Man when the Acura dealer took me out for a test drive in this thing, I almost pissed in my pants the car is soooooooo fast. He skipped gears (from 1st to 3rd) and the cars tires chirped a little then vrooooooom. The other cars were so far behind us it wasn't even funny. What a car, and what a steal of a price I got it for (my secret). The seats are so comfortable that you could go to sleep in them and not wake up with a backache (I know I slept in it the first night I got it). I love this car to pieces and will keep it forever. It's so much better than it's slowmatic cousin with 20% more power to the wheels. Although the stereo could be better in some areas (more clarity, although okay)I can't believe that the "paper cone" speakers are that loud. Notice I said paper cone speakers. Unbelievable sound quality for paper cone so I'm not complaining at all. I could just imagine if you changed just the speakers to some after market MB Quarts, or Infinity Kappa's (which is eventually my plan, but I'm just going to rock the Bose speakers until they go on me) This car is phenomenal, no problems remotely close to the automatics, much faster (60 pounds lighter), and a pure sleeper that has people looking at me one they arrive at the light 2 minutes later than me. All that I can say is WWWWWWWWWWWWOW! 6spd all the way!

My 2003 Cl Type S Is On Its 3rd Automatic Transmis
My 2003 CL Type S is on its 3rd automatic transmission and it is giving me problems. The dealership where I bought the car says their service department makes a living on just the new transmissions they install on the 2002-2003 Acuras. Figures indicated this relatively small dealership changes 30-40 automatic transmissions per month. Even worse, the fixes to the transmissions, as supported by the factory, tells the dealership to increase the slip between gears to avoid the harshness of snappy gear changes and to lower the performance of the motor thereby not putting additional strain on the transmission. For someone who paid extra for the Type S, intentionally cutting back performance is truly a slap in the face!

The Acura Cl Type S 6 Speed Manual Is An Exception
The Acura CL Type S 6 speed Manual is an exceptional sport touring coupe. Its fit and finish is exceptional, the accelertion and handling are marvelous. Hiway gas mileage with a set of Comptech headers exceeds 30 mpg at 75 mph average.
Have driven the car for 5 1/2 hours without stopping comfortably.

My 2003 Cl Type S Is A Very Satisfying Car For The
My 2003 CL Type S is a very satisfying car for the $28K I paid Acura for it. In comparison with a BMW 3 series, I'd say the CL/S is a better buy but it lacks the dash, snappy handling and better styling of the new BMWs. It also costs a lot less than a 330i. The CL is definitely not a sports car. It has a massive 260 HP and smooth acceleration right off the top but doesn't handle like a lighter RSX or Integra. CompTech USA offers speed parts that will take it over 300 HP and improve the handling as well but right out of the box it is very comfortable and not so punishing as the smaller cars. It's high quality fit and finish and Honda perfect maintenance history make it an ideal daily commuter on the Washington DC beltway where 0-80-0 sprints are the norm. In summary - the CL type S is a great car for the money. Spend more and get more for a BMW.

Quick In 6 Speed. The Low Quality Of The Stereo W
Quick in 6 speed. The low quality of the stereo was a real shock. Midrange comes through far too loud and at max bass & treble settings is still the main thing you hear. Intolerable without a sub. I've got a several year old buick regal as well with far better sound quality. SHAME ON BOSE. I didn't really test the stereo before buying but if I had, I would have insisted on $1-2k off to completely replace the sound. I won't buy another vehicle with bose in it (unless, that is, bose does the right thing in this case and provides something to reduce midrange for all '01 and later CL owners at no charge).
Otherwise, the CL performs pretty well. With a better stereo I would buy again without hesitation.
Acura needs to make woodgrain available in the black interior.
Oh yeah.... the stereo by far the worst thing about this car. SHAME ON BOSE!
you've got to be kidding MEEEEEEE that bose stock system in the cl s 01-03 is killer MID range is nothing but more chorus and hallway reverb. nowwww you do havvvve to have the bass and teble to the maxx and just leave it like that and it functions it self out for every song louder or softer the cd or source. the the 2 "tweeters on the windows are actually not tweeters they are bose "twiddlers" they are double plated carbon fiber woven cones which produce double .. or in bose terms quad the precision and clarity and crisp range .. the speakers on the front doors are only 5 1/4 cones and there are two 6x9 speakers on the trunk back window and that is it. no subwoofer with amazingly low clarity just like bose only lows popping in at necceasrry times proividing 0% rumble fuzz or distorition .,.. the trick was to pump =these carbon fiber plated cones with the lavishly given high power blade bose amp in the trunk and twist up the ohms in a way that has never been done on any bose for a car and have a 1,000 watt amp loaded with compressers and limiters to push and compress 1,000 watts of power to these 4 MULTI DIRECTIONAL speakers and two twiddlers to triplify the bose bass signature kick that sounds like theres somebody in the car kicking a real bass kick drum from a realll live drumset in the middle of the car and the toms that roll down sound like they are being lively hit too.. but here's one thing that'll prove to you what i'm sayingv try to get ur hands on some of the head honcho bose noise cancellation headphones theyre like 799$ and they have the true 100% what evvvverything bose is suppossed to sound like .... they sound exactly 100% just like the system in the car it's crazy. and by the way i have a proffesional college degree in this

This Acura Cl Type S Car Is Awesome. I've Got The
This Acura cl type s car is awesome. I've got the 6 speed transmission and so far, I've raced and BEAT a BMW roadster M series, a Lotus and everything else I've come across. This car is sooo much value for the money it's crazy. This car is more reliable and more muscle than any 330i. You'd have to be moron to blow your money on an Audi or a BMW.
I'm feel sorry for your obvious ignorant stance towards the Acura CL Type S. If you really knew very much about current automobiles, you'd know that the difference between the overpriced "sport" car segment and the other automobiles such as the "luxury" sport segment are not very big. The posted 0-60 time on a "6spd" CL type is is 5.9 seconds. Many of the fastest published times of BMW M roadsters and older lotus' are at most a 1/2 second faster. Did you stop to consider that the guy driving the BMW may have been driving an auto or it was a stick but the driver was the typical yuppy with money who can't shift?? If you'd like to know, the Lotus was SLIGHTLY faster 0-60 than I was, but by the time we were at 125 I was 2 full car lengths ahead of him. The BMW race was close but I still dusted him. Hey, even even if I could even come close to matching there speed it would be testament enouph that the CL Type S is an awesome car given that it cost 1/3 of the price. Just because a car is a BMW, Porsche, or Lotus, doesn't automatically mean it's unbelievalbly fast, it means that it is very expensive; If you were a true driving enthusiast, your ignorance would not be so blatent.
Do you really believe you can out accelerate a Lotus? What kind of Lotus were you racing? A Esprit would blow the CL's doors off, as would a BMW Roadster M. Did you ever stop to consider that they were not even racing you? Get real.
I fully agree. I just picked up a 03' CL type 'S'. For me, it was a toss up between the Infinity G35 and the Acura. The Acura won out. I have a 99 CL 2.3. I have 155,00 miles on it and it hasn't given me a problem yet. I decided to go with the Acura. In my book, it beats all the competition, including the Lexus IS-300. I can't wait to get off of work and go for a drive!

My 2001 Acura Cl Type-s Dynoed At 325 Hp. It Is Pr
My 2001 Acura CL type-s dynoed at 325 hp. It is probably the most necking breaking car. So when you see me make sure you have a neck brace.
i totally agree, no way it dyno'ed at 325 unless its on squeeze with revised engine internals.
cls makes about 220 at the wheels and 200 ft pounds of torque. so unless youve completely revised
that 3.2 litre i dont think its gonna make 325
325 HP on a stock Acura CL? What were you smoking when you read the dyno numbers? The stock HP is quoted by Acura as 260HP at the crank. These cars are never over rated so the hp is probably a little less then that. You might get close to 325 with a supercharger. No way in hell its 325 stock. Learn a little about the subject before you open your mouth and rubbish comes out.
