I've Been A Mazda Loyalist All Through, Starting W

I've been a Mazda loyalist all through, starting with a 929 in the nineties. Last week I sold my 2002 Mazda 626 and now booked a Mazda6. I have no negative comments to make about my Mazda cars. First of all the design and shape suits my tastes, price is affordable for me and it is really comfortable inside.. and above all, it has never let me down.... not even once!

Think About The Perfect Car... Sexy, Stylish, Eleg

Think about the perfect car... sexy, stylish, elegant, sophisticated, sporty. It's anything and everythig you want it to be. What is it you may ask yourself??? It's an Alfa Romeo...

The Mazda-6 appears to be the biggest rip off of Alfa Romeo's styling - it's not funny - they should be ashamed of themselves.

Yeah, I don't know, the Mazda 6 has become so common...

But does an Alfa Romeo hold its resale value half as well as a Mazda? I think not.

Bob E

You may have a point here, Alfa is very much a trend setter, avant garde style, can't blame them for following. BUT, as far as quality and reliability is concerned, Mazda and Subaru are hard to beat! I've had three Mazda's and also see German Road Help stats.

Great car, be happy!

I Have A 2004 Mazda-6 4cyl 5 Speed With 30,00 Km ,

I have a 2004 Mazda-6 4cyl 5 speed with 30,00 km , my third Mazda ( '89 MX-6 and '99 626) and I got this one based on the reliability and value I experienced with the first two.

Well, what a disappointment. Car was great for the first few months then it developed problems that Mazda has been unwilling / unable to fix or even acknowledge.

Power and gas mileage are way down, stick shift is rough and clunky, brake squeal continually returns, cold starts are rough, traction control is terrible in the snow.

Repeated trips to 2 different dealers and after several months of asking - a regional service rep test drove it - said there's nothing wrong. Mazda has really let me down with the car and the lack of accountability and support.

the ones they sell in canada are made at a joint ford-mazda plant in michigan - they should have northern winters figured out by now.

this car continues to age more like a ford than a mazda , new problems are: dysfunctional trunk latch , 3 of 4 bolts on the skid plate broken so it is in the trunk for now ( this plate has to be removed to change oil - 2 bolts would have been broken at a mazda dealer but I guess they didn't see fit to replace them ) and the previously good handling has gone soft with lots of roll through turns. Also, the a/c can't keep up on hot days , car never gets cooler than lukewarm.

Every time I see a 'zoom-zoom' ad I think it should be 'BS-BS' , only one year left on my walk-away lease ..... I definitely will not be driving away in a new mazda.

Well, as far as I know all Mazda 3 and 6 are made in Japan, perhaps the weather and the service in Canada are different. I haven't owned an M6, but for reliability ADAC (the German autoclub) stats have had a Mazda 3 or 6 in the first five positions (of all makes and models !!) for the last 5 years, I think. There must be something behind these.

No, sir, is not a rare negative review. When the gentlemen above was describing his experience I was seeing my own bad experience with a Mazda 6. I dont recomend this car even if the aestethical design appeals. Bad reliability and BAD BAD BAD service and assistance from Mazda Canada.

Bob E

This is a rare negative review, though it goes as much for the service stations as for the model itself.

I've had two 323's and one 626. The latter: 2.0 petrol engine, made in 1991, bought from new, now 220,000 kms, totally corroded body, mechanically running well, no major repairs, original shockers!! On Eastern European roads I've never seen a more reliable make.
