I have owned a Ford Contour for 10 years, and I agree with everything the other reviewer said. I actually own a Contour 1995. This car has not seen a repair shop for the last 3 years.

I love my 1996 Ford Contour 2.5L with automatic transmission. It has a cold air intake (that I had to make my self) I have not been beat in a race yet not just four and six cylinders V8 also it has been the best car I have ever had it is one of the only front wheel drive cars I have seen with the automatic tran to get second gear scratch

I Love This Ford Contour Sedan Like A Child. It Is
I love this Ford Contour sedan like a child. It is great with handling and can get you from point A to point B with no problem. I feel like the problems with this car are typical for newer cars these days. I mean face it, cars now a days ARE NOT meant to last past 100,000 Miles. My 1998 2.5 V6 is at 118,500 miles. I do almost all of the maintanance on it and some of it may be a hassle (the Alternator for instance), but it is a thrill to drive and is great in the city to get around the dumb drivers here in VA. Hope that everyone else with this model had the same fun with theirs!

I Have Had A 1997 Ford Contour Automatic For 5 Yea
I have had a 1997 Ford Contour automatic for 5 years now with 53K miles. Just paid it off and am hoping to get another 40K at least out of it. The engine lifters grind in the morning, the car looses power when AC is on, seatbelts have always bunched up, seats very uncomfortable, keep getting new recall letters in the mail in which they expect me to PAY for a rental car until they have TIME to fix it! So I haven't fixed the FIVE recalls yet for various electrical problems. Typical of Fords. Otherwise the car is still running, I really do like the car, I just wish Fords weren't so unreliable....keep your cell phone charged up and your triple AAA payed up and you should be okay with these cars.
