Unfortunately (and Yet Maybe Fortunately), I Don't

Unfortunately (and yet maybe fortunately), I don't own one of these. I did have the opportunity though to experience one, albeit from the passenger's seat. This Bugatti Veyron 16/4 Quad Turbo W16 is a Supercar of note, and it takes fast, quick and powerful to serious heights of intensity.

With a 0 - 100 km/h time of 2.5 sec, and a top speed well in excess of 400 km/h, there's little else (in fact nothing being produced as a standard production car) that can stay with it, let alone beat it.

The seating is extremely low slung in the cockpit, so much that when climbing in it feels as though you're preparing to sit on the ground. Even with this, the visibility forward and to the sides is surprisingly good. The cockpit is styled very elegantly, with a mixture of chrome, wood veneer and expensive leather. The seats are built to hold you not only tightly in place, but with a wonderful level of comfort. The car I rode in was fitted with 4-point seat belts - a necessity when moving along at the speeds this car can achieve.

The performance which I experienced in the car was far from its peak, yet was seriously impressive. Sitting forward in my seat (as far as I could move forward with the seat belt array), I tried holding my position as the driver planted his foot deep on the throttle - this whilst already travelling at around 140 km/h. In an instant I was forced (not pushed, but forced), hard back into the seat backrest. Not too long afterward, we were pushing 280 km/h!

The car is fitted with enormous brakes with multi-potted calipers front & rear. These make slowing from 280 km/h seem like normal town-driving style braking.

The tyres, which, to the best of my information and understanding, are manufactured solely for the Veyron due to their size, do a most excellent job of putting all that power and braking force to the roadway.

It's obvious that this car was designed & built with one thing in mind - to be the best in its class!

I wouldn't mind borrowing one for a weekend, as long as someone else is footing the fuel bill!!!
