Volkswagen Touran 1600 FSI

The Volkswagen Touran 1600 FSI is a great car for lugging the family around in general, and especially on holiday. There is a large amount of luggage space, with lots of places to have additional storage. It seats 6 and 7. It can only be used for the kids on long journeys, but for in and around town, unless you are very tall it is sufficient.

My touran spent more of the first 3 months back in the dealership than it did with me. Now I have been lumbered with it for 6 months, and they can't even replace it with a like for like as agreed. The best they can come up with is a Polo. It's a pity because given a properly built model this could, and should be, a wonderful drive.

The two back seats out of the seven, are only good for dwarves or dogs: we do have dogs.

The seats do allow for a good degree of alteration, and it will take a wheelchair when this becomes necessary. The front drink holders are perilously close to the handbrake, and the rear ones are in fold down tables, which is much better for our passengers.

The upholstery does not clean very well, and the floor mats available as extras, have to be forced into position.
