I Had A 2.0l Sport Diesel ( 143ps) Mazda 5 For A C
I had a 2.0L Sport Diesel ( 143ps) Mazda 5 for a couple of years from new. It was a very versatile vehicle and pulled well with the more powerful engine attached. I did have a few issues with it, one was a recall for the alloy wheels to be replaced due to corrosion ( now sorted out on newer models), the other a tremendous noise from the power steering which took over a year to rectify, but was under warranty. The car never broke down and gave me just over 40mpg on average. It also doubled as a van at times and would seat 7 at a sqeeze ( by virtue of the fold down kakuri seat in the 2nd row ). I will be having another next year, that is how much i like it! Only down side is that dealers can be stingey if you are trading in another vehicle to buy your Mazda. Sell Privately for best value and buy one which is a few months old to minimise depreciation pain!

The Mazda 5 2.0 Sport is still in warranty rattles like a bag of spanners full services as required by warrant, new rear shock absorbers, DPF failed without warning doesn't seem to be working. only done 2000 miles since oil change and regen and crankcase oil is 12mm above full mark heading for the x mark. Looks like another £130-00 for a regen coming up soon!!

Excellent car and with the reliability of Mazda, a good choice even if other cars have more gimmicks - in three years I'll still be smiling!
