This car out performs 300 horsepower mustangs (stock) and I have yet to find a four door sedan (BMW) (Chevrolet) (Ford) stock. I have never needed to unlock the top end (governor) but have video to prove a 155 mph ride in a stock 06 Daytona charger with the same engine. These cars are the best $35,000 cars to buy.

The Dodge Magnum Is Dangerous With The Hemi Engine
The Dodge Magnum is dangerous with the Hemi engine. I'm embarrassed that this is an American made car. The car shakes & stalls under acceleration on the highway. It shakes so bad while idling the body moves up and down several inches. Two different dealerships have had their chance. The car has been in dealer garages for months. Over nine times for this same item. Took it in several times to reset the computer then replaced the PCM, solenoids twice, and lifters. Had the car over five months and still it doesn't run. Finally called the Dodge satisfaction hot line and now dealerships are hostile toward me.

I've Had My 2005 Dodge Magnum Rt 5.7l Hemi People
I've had my 2005 Dodge Magnum RT 5.7L Hemi People Carrier for about 7 months and I love it! It has plenty of power and still gets fairly good mileage. I love the way it looks and handles. The 'bad' points I listed are observations rather than complaints. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) prevents a skid by reducing the throttle. I'm not sure how it determines when you're in a skid, but ESP frequently kicks in before I think it's necessary. There's a button on the dash to turn it off, but ESP is automatically enabled every time you start the engine. It's really not a big deal, but if you like to 'punch' it on occasion you may be surprised by a sudden lack of throttle response or even deceleration. The Auto-Stick transmission is pretty nifty. It allows you to select a gear by pressing the shifter lever left to down-shift, or right to up-shift. Holding the lever to the left is supposed to automatically select the 'best' gear for the current speed. I don't always agree with its selection. It also prevents you from over-revving the engine by refusing to actually down-shift to a manually selected gear if it's too low. Auto-Stick is a feature that probably is rarely used by the average driver. The Multiple Displacement System (MDS) is another nifty feature. When cruising, the engine will automatically shut down 4 cylinders. Any acceleration will automatically turn them back on--it happens so quickly you'll never notice. I don't generally use Cruise Control, but I did just to test it. I'm accustomed to other vehicles (my Jeep & Caravan for instance) slowing as you start up a hill and then down-shifting to get back up to speed. With the Magnum, the speed never dropped below my setting and it never down-shifted. Bottom line--it's great!
