It Isn't Often I Agree With A Jeremy Clarkson Revi
It isn't often I agree with a Jeremy Clarkson review, in fact I can't stand the guy, - but he was spot on with this one.
The Citroen Berlingo Multispace is a work of art. It's a five seater people carrier, it rides like a Jag yet converts to a Van. It's economical to run and fun to drive.
Storage spaces everywhere. In fact you can lose stuff because you forget where you've put it! Smooth, responsive 1.6 16-valve engine goes like a rocket and returns great economy. Easy to work on and DIY service. Sliding doors don't rattle, interior doesn't rattle (and it's a blue dash panel and gear knob!). Heater not as good as some cars, but still ok. Tyres same size as an Astra and cheap to replace. Very little wind resistance for a Van shape. Interior sound system rather poor.
You sit somewhere in between a car and 4x4 height and visibility is supreme.
Try one sometime!
true to the bone! this review sais it all (I drive a new berlingo multispace sice february this year) except... I don't think the sound system sounds that poor... sure, it won't go extremely loud due to a built-in volume limitation, but as opposed to the sound system in many other cars, this prevents people to screw up their speakers as I did in my previous car! besides that I find the sound quality pretty good, bass sounds right and full, treble is perfect as it is when car comes out the factory, the lot is adjustable at will on top of that you get a decent built in white/red jack inlet nicely tucked away and ready to use in the glovebox, even in the basic version... I love it!
