Hiace Turbo Diesel
I purchased a 2012 Toyota Hiace 3 litre turbo diesel van in 2012.
The van is very powerful, economical and handles well. The intercooled turbo engine delivers enough power to spin the wheels in 3rd gear on corners and power up hills even fully loaded and towing a trailer.
The van area in the back is roomy and very practical for carrying goods.
The only design fault i can find is the interior where the passenger has no leg room and a fixed parcel tray at between knee and ankle height restricts movement. As this van was designed and has been in use for a number of years Toyota are saddly lacking at fixing this fault. The centre seat is also cramped and only suitable for a small person. Anyone with 6ft of height or a large frame would not be comfortable in the passenger seat and most certainly not fit in the center seat at all.
