Had My 220 Gsi A Month Now And I'm Made Up With It

Had my 220 gsi a month now and I'm made up with it!! Only gave £500 for it and its well worth it only done 92k and sounds as good as it did the day it rolled out the showroom. Considering I haven ' t exactly bin driving it slow she hasn ' t missed a beat and when you get to around 4000 rpm you can never stop grinning when the person in the passenger seat is wondering how a rover can clean up cars worth ten times as much! Highly recommended car for those of you who don ' t like people knowing exactly what you have under the bonnet! Until you fly past them of course...

I Love The Rover 220 Gsi Hatch, I Have Owned Mine

I love the Rover 220 Gsi Hatch, I have owned mine for a year now and it has never let me down once. I thought the looks were slightly dull so lowered the car by 40mm and fitted 17" alloys on the her. Now she looks as well as she goes, people always comment on the Rover with the modifications done and I get young and old saying they never knew a Rover could look so good.

The image is not a problem to me I think Rover cars in general are far better equipped and built than any Citroen or Fiat can build or offer.

I love when you get your smug Mercedes or BMW drivers looking at you at the lights because as soon as I drop the clutch, their grin is soon wiped of their face when you leave their 20k cars for dust.

All in all I would recommend the 220 to someone who is a true petrol head to get one, as they are now very rare and in a few years time a proper modern Classic.

I Bought A Rover 220 Gsi Hatch A Year Ago For A &p

I bought a Rover 220 GSI Hatch a year ago for a £1000 and it's been very reliable. I choose the hatch over the coupe as it's more practical, and cheaper to buy and insurance. Performance is pretty decent; it has 136bhp (standard), which means a sub 8 second 0-60mph. Insurance isn't too bad either, it's group 13, which compares favourably to, say, a 115bhp Golf GTI or a 120bhp Saxo VTS which are both group 14. I think the overall image of the car is quite understated less boy racer than that of Saxo's, XR3i's, etc. They look a little dull as standard, so I've added 17 inch rims and -35mm lowering springs, a big improvement. The interior trim is much better than many other hot hatchs; you get chrome, wood, leather, and full electrics. A down side is that it's not particularly economical.
