Great Value, Better Than Most Other Makes In This
Great value, better than most other makes in this category, the Saab marque still can nip at the heals at the status of Audi and BMW with the advantage of Vauxhall and Ford running costs.

The Car Is Great Well Built Reliable, Good To Driv
The car is great well built reliable, good to drive due to the 150bhp which the engine delivers. I find the car good on gas depending how it is driven, if you cane it expect poor fuel useage, but if driven like an old geeser it delivers good mph.

Love the car to bits. It does everything I could want or do with ease. Only bad points are the handling and the mpg. Next Saab will be a diesel!

Very happy with the Saab 9-5, this is my second Saab 95. Dealer is fantastic. Excellent when overtaking, very safe. Great seat adjustment and interior space.
Reversing sensors are excellent.

Comfort (driver & passengers), an excellent, responsive ride and lots of space for luggage and rear seat passengers. Dual zone climate control is great and the car has Saab's excellent safety and reliability record.
I'd have liked to have had a bigger engine and upgraded trim but settled for what I could afford and no regrets.

Good all round car. Look for Saab specialists for servicing. Check turbo on 9-5 models these can go as early as 60,000 miles.

I Owned A Saab 9-5 Saloon For Around 2 Years Buyin
I owned a Saab 9-5 Saloon for around 2 years buying it with 20,000 miles on the clock. I loved the look of the car as it was an Aero lookalike. It drove well for about 3 months, after which things started to go wrong. At the next service the dealer noticed that all shocks were leaking and all needed replaced. I was lucky the car was just still in warranty so I didn't have to pay. A few more months and it would have cost me over £1000. Next, after the car frequently went into limp-home mode and was reset each time by the dealer who said it might be nothing to worry about, it had it's throttle body replaced. Then after I complained of the car was sounding really rough in the mornings I was advised that the car had an oil pick up problem due to a blockage and the sump had to be drained and cleaned - another £500. After about another 8 months I was advised by another dealer (as I had lost faith in the first) advised that this procedure needed to be done again. I was really annoyed at this because my beautiful car that never missed an authorised Saab dealer service interval and which had only ever received the best possible recommended engine oil was sounding like a tractor. The car was never driven hard and I was embarrassed to start it up in the morning due to the strange looks. The car also broke down on me 3 times with no warning, once on a busy round-a-bout. I still love the look of the car but I would never buy another. I now drive an Audi A4 2.5 v6 and it has so much more quality engineering under the hood.

I Bought My 9-5 2.0se With 42,000 On The Clock Bac
I bought my 9-5 2.0SE with 42,000 on the clock back in 2002, and instantly fell in love with the beautiful styling, luxurious drive and stunning performance.
That feeling lasted about a year, up to 60,000. Then it turned into a horror story, a little bit like your angelic, beautifully-behaved child turning into a teenager! First, the mysterious black ignition box broke - £150. Then fumes started coming into the car after some pipe broke in the engine - £120. Then it was the tyres - £100 a corner. Then the dreaded 66,000 mile service - £375, and not even a full Saab-approved garage - just an independent dealer.
But by far the worst was the Turbo's death - £932 in all, and not even a genuine Saab Turbo. I paid it, but by that time the vehicle was worth no more than £3,000.
Buying the Saab 9-5 was by far the most damaging decision economically that I have ever made in my life (apart from getting married).
I would NEVER buy a Saab again!

I Bought A Saab 9-5 Saloon 2.0t From My Friend Wit
I bought a Saab 9-5 Saloon 2.0T from my friend with 18'000 miles on it, it was very low mileage for its age and had a full service history on it. First thing to fail!!! the radio and information display screen. Cost to replace, £285. second hand. Then I found out that the oil pump filter had to be replaced because it bungs up, 23.000miles, what a laugh. cost? I'm not going to frighten you. Then the air conditioning display unit went, quote to repair, £600. The chain needs replacing as it is starting to rattle, the engine has to come out for this. Cost? don't ask. And finally it has about 6 different leaks in the engine compartment, quote to repair, £900. And how many miles is on the clock now. 43.000 miles, no this is not your imagination it's fact, oh and I almost forgot the drivers door catch keeps jamming, will I buy another one? Saab should not be allowed to liken products to jet planes because if they were built like this they would fall from the skies. There is only one reason I give this car very good performance because take away these unnecessary faults, you have a lovely car.

Saab 9-5 Saloon 2.0t - I Put 150,000 Mile On My 19
Saab 9-5 Saloon 2.0T - I put 150,000 mile on my 1999 model. Turbo went at 140,000.
I loved this car, it returned 38mpg and was plenty fast enough throughout the rev range. Superb motorway cruiser and good A roads. Not good on B roads.
Beautifully engineered cup holder.
Mine was very reliable.
