Bought The Rover Montego Family Car For A Cheap 7

Bought the Rover Montego Family car for a cheap 7 seater, 1993 2.0i LX

In a year apart from M.O.T. parts only needeed a battery. Suffering from fairly low m.p.g. but passed gas emmisions easily. Very reliable, starts every time, but constantly needs slight T.L.C.

I Have Owned A Mg Montego 2.0i (f Reg) For 14 Year

I have owned a MG Montego 2.0i (F reg) for 14 years, it has been a constant joy driving her and knowing that whenever minor faults develop, on the majority of occasions they seem to fix themselves??... very handy. She was always there... for my heavy mileage job, school runs, coast day trips and holidays.. always there. She became one of the family, we called her "Deeko", the reason for this being that the registration ended in "DKO".

Unfortunately, for a while now, she'd been overheating easily and virtually every mechanic we took her to didn't really know why this was - on some occasions the temperature gauge didn't actually work?.. and over the last week it got steadily worse and started making a loud "gratey" type noise, took her into a gararge, turns out her head gasket had gone... need less to say I'm deeply sadened by the loss of her, as it would have been unpractical to pay the required amount to rectify the problems she was having. Still on a lighter note today I purchased a lovely H reg Rover Montego 2.0 GTI... Very Impressed, HERES TO THE FUTURE!!

LONG LIVE MONTEGOS!
