You Can Say What You Want About My Rover...
and it's probably true. I love the little thing and it's a great family car, but my goodness does it have problems!
the exhause blows about every 9 months, the aircon is as temperamental as the oil (up, down, up, down) and goodness knows why the door handle fell off, but it did!
However, it's nice an roomy inside. i'm in such an internal dilemma about my little Rover. To kill it or to let it live, disabilities and all?...

A Beautiful Smooth Ride. A Lovely Looking Little M
A beautiful smooth ride. A lovely looking little motor.
Economic on fuel. I love everything about this car! Money well spent, and an absolute bargain I have to say! With only 83,000 on the clock I was well impressed to snap this little baby up for only £1300.
I would recommend this car to anyone. Big enough for a family car but small enough to be nice and nippy!

I Have Had My Rover 25 For 2 Years And 8 Months. I
I have had my rover 25 for 2 years and 8 months. I paid over the odds but bought it from a dealer, so no surprise. It is in excellent condition for its age and sprints off the start line whenever asked.
It has now done 41,000 miles so not bad for an 03 plate, but the gasket has now gone. I caught it before it fully blew and had a headgasket saver put on it today, with a 12 month warranty for £280.
I am hoping that I will run the car into the ground, but I love this car and would be gutted if I ever had to part with it.
A lot of people don't like rovers but I love mine.
I would like to have known, advised me to keep the extended warranty going, it only ran out in February, ok its £200 but would have paid for itself.

I Had A Rover 25 1.6 Il. Engine Was A Bit Gutless,
I had a Rover 25 1.6 iL. Engine was a bit gutless, but to be expected for a 1st car. Otherwise loved it, brilliant car!
I Bought An S Reg Rover 25 In 2001. Unfortunately
I bought an S Reg Rover 25 in 2001. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience.
Keep in mind that this car only had 26,000 on the clock when I bought it and had a full service, full service history and checks before I picked it up.
I test drove the car, as you do and pointed out to the salesman that I could hear a slight tapping from the engine. He assured me that the car had been stood and it was simply that the oil was low, I checked this story with my father in-law who knows about cars and he said that was quite a valid explanation and that taking into account the mileage he thought that the car would be fine.
So I said that I would buy the car, as long as when I picked it up the noise was gone.
When I picked the car up I couldn't hear the tapping noise and so I drove off quite happy.
By the time I had got home (6 miles away) the tapping noise was back! As it was now past closing time I had to wait until the morning to call the garage and as I started work at 7am this meant that I needed to drive the car 16miles to work.
By the time I got to work, the car was making a louder tapping sound - not good - so I called the garage who told me that they couldn't look at the car until next week and that it was probably something or nothing.
So with my appointment booked for the following week I drove the car home. On the motorway the tapping got louder and louder and so when I got home I called Green Flag - they came to my house and said that the car was extremely dangerous and so towed me back to the garage from which I had purchased it - they took the car back, after the Green Flag man had shouted at them and gave me one of the sales reps cars to drive around in.
They then called me the next day to tell me that the car needed a new engine!?! Obviously at this news I was furious - not only had they let me buy and drive a car that was not fit for the road but they then had the nerve to ring me the day after I had bought it to tell me this and try to tell me that I could not get my money back!
I did indeed get my money back and went and purchased a fantastic P Reg Honda Civic!
The garage in question has now closed down, I do not know if they made a habit of churning out rubbish cars or if mine was a one off but it put me off Rover and their garage for life.
did they tell u what it was? i just bought a mg 25
I'm afraid that I can only write a review on my experience, and in my experience I found that car was 0/10. When all said and done the car had very low mileage and really should not have been in such a poor condition that the only way to fix it would be to replace it's entire engine! So my rating still stands 0/10 as what use is a car without an engine?
I may be a girl but I am not going to rate it 2/10 because I like the colour?!?
This is one separate incident - surely you can't rate this car 0/10 because the dealer you bought it from was dodgy?
That really doesn't do this car justice.

The Rover 25 Is One Top Car. Despite Being Over 6
The Rover 25 is one top car. Despite being over 6 foot tall, this is one of the few cars find comfortable and fit in, despite the sunroof. It's the perfect size for singles / couples / small families - the front seats are comfy and there's a massive boot (compared to similar sized cars); the back seats are there so you can occasionally fit your mates in to go to the pub or just for a couple of children. The press never understood this and hence there's "official" reviews claiming the back seats are too small!
It has lumbar, seat height, steering height adjustment and various other useful things like a trafficmaster system, steering controls for the radio and electic mirrors.
The engine's a peach, with one of the highest power-to-weight ratios of any mass-produced engine. You can bimble around in 5th at 30mph or rev off down a dual carriageway in 2nd.
Handling is great, it quietly soaks up the bumps but is still a good sporty drive for a small car and surprises all sorts.
Superb car, and cheap as chips now MG Rover gone bankrupt and the Chinese have the rights! Don't worry about spares - the X-Part company makes all the consumables.

The Rover 25 1.6 Is The Best Family Driving Car I
The Rover 25 1.6 is the best family driving car I have ever driven.
Engine is happy while idling around town or being pushed on the motorway. Accelerates around roundabouts while holding line very well. Quite economical knocking about 35 ish to the gallon. Very underated and good looking machine.
