I owned a 2.0 HDI 206 SW for the past 6.5 years and although it has never let me down I wouldn't say it's the most reliable car I had, mainly due to repeated problems with electrics and it goes through front suspension parts like it's on a mission to rid the world of spares, also eats brake discs/pads but that is probably more to do with my driving than the car! Poor build quality is what lets it down. Also performance is nothing special don't expect to be able to keep up with TDI Golfs or a diesel Focus. I owend a 306 XRDT 1.9 turbo diesel before this and the perfomance was far more superior than the 2.0 HDI

The Peugeot 206 HDI 2.0 Is a good value fast/family car!. Its got good acceleration for the price of the car. The interior is quite poor though, and its a pain to have to change the wheel.

We owed the Peugeot 206 for approx,14 months it was fantastic. Unfortunately had nasty accident involving long wheel based transit hitting it from behind and it was so badly damaged it was written off. But it provided excellent protection to us in the car. Excellent in fuel economy and drove like a petrol and the noise was low. We miss it terribly!!! Did 26,000 miles and only had one slight problem in all that time.

I Test Drove Quite A Few Cars Before I Decided To
I test drove quite a few cars before I decided to buy the Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI S SW. This was the only car that fulfilled everything I wanted in terms of size, internal space, ride comfort & power within my budget. The power socket in the back is very handy for powering a cool box or for a portable DVD player for the kids to watch. Enough room for 4 adults and weekend baggage comforably but struggled a bit with luggage for a two week holiday.
Motorway cruising is very relaxed with low noise levels - one of the reasons I went for the 2.0 diesel which quietly purrs along at motorway speeds.
I haven't measured the economy but when on holiday for two weeks, my brother got through 2 tanks full of unleaded in his 1.2 Clio to my one tank of diesel!
If I didn't need the extra internal space I would of bought the saloon but this is the best compromise I could come to.
