Peugeot 206 1.6 GLX

I bought my peugeout 206 very cheap and instantly fell in love with it was perfect I am 17 so I must admit the power of the 1.6 was fantastic I loved it I must add I did get 134 mph out of mine with 5 people init unbelievably powerful but besides that it's such a fantastic car it has so many gadgets like the remote central locking the air conditioning the trip computer and the front and rear electric windows but my rear windows where converted only the front ones are electric as standard the only thing I didn't like about mine was the silly button by the handbrake that not one of my Friends could ever figure out what the hell it did it really bugged us but this is such a luxurious car for your money it has everything you could want I actually ended up rolling mine onto the roof at 60 mph and not one of my passengers was hurt it's such a safe car in the case of an accident would highly recommend to any one I would love another one wish I drove mine more sensibly now

I purchased my Peugeot 206 1.6 GLX automatic second hand and I must honestly say that its just as good as my first car a Peugeot 306 sadan. The colour is a brilliant grey, and it behaves to a wonder. I do have that screeching break issue but to be honest I had it in my 306 too .. so yes let them stare and see that sporty car that I drive ... brilliant preformance the only set back is the lack of power windows in the back .... I do recommend it ... Peugeot ...

Where do I start, have had it for 2 years and have had to replace exhaust, catalytic converter, drive shaft, all tyres, door hinges, and I have just part exchanged it with an oil leak and water leak. I had only had the car a month when the engine management unit failed.

An awful car, don't buy it if you want your rear passengers to have any leg room....fuel is economical and I think that is the only bonus.

The Peugeot 206 1.6 is a really great car for me. The ABS, powerful engine, air conditioning system brings me lots of joy when driving this good handling car. It's one of the best, if the services are done on time, as specified in the instruction manual.

I bought my Peugeot 206 XS in July 2002. In short, it's been in the garage every three months, if it's not a screeching fan belt, it's the suspension or a faulty door lock or the A/C pump. The most recent problem has to do with a very loud noise in the steering mechanism.

I think the build quality is very low and the reliability is well below average.

This car has caused me problems from about a month after it was bought new. The breaks screeched constantly making people turn and stare. We were told by the dealership it was because of the new asbestos free break pads and that all cars did it. After three attempts they told us that we could no longer bring it back for screeching breaks and they had done all they could. Peugoet UK said it was the dealership's issue, they weren't interested. After much complaining, phone calls and letter writing to all concerned we were given a free service at a different dealership as compensation. They fixed it in one go. Recently the car started making a clonking noise so the wishbone was changed but within days it was doing it again. So it's back to the garage for the third time in three weeks. Peugeot for my next car? No way, no thanks, and thanks for all the (bad) memories.

The Peugeot 206 1.6 GLX is a stylish, small compact car, it has plenty of accleration and the top speed is plenty adequete(125mph easy). The service that i've recieved from peugeot is rubbish, they don't respond to messages, and the parts take light years to arrive. Apart from this i'd recommend to any one.
