Nissan Primera Dci Se D 2.2 Hatchback

i have owed a number of cars a vw polo wich was good. a vw golf which suffered two head gaskets!a peugeoet 405 petrol which was nothing but trouble.then i brought a nissan bluebird which was 5 years fault free, then i brought a primera p11 which was an excellernt car but a little under powered .i then decided on a diesel and brought a 2.2td 2002 which i am pleased with it will keep with many 2 litre petrol cars offers excellen equipment and safety,has a galvanised body. so when you some it up a japenese diesel,with a galvanised body with proper care the car should last a life time....it is even better than the toyota carina i had whichpuffed blue smoke every time you started it ,it had only done 92k.....buy a nissan they are excellent cars.

After selling my Nissan Terrano due to Mr Browns stupid save the planet ideas and road tax increases i bought a Primera 2.2 tdi. 2002 48,000mls and mint condition for just 3k. What a good buy it was. excellent tow car for my large caravan and the reverse camera is fantastic as an aid to coupling up to the caravan. 48mpg average and a fantastic 31mpg when towing around France with the air-con on as well !!

Bought my 52 plate Nissan Primera 2.2 Td 135bhp about 3 and a half years ago, and it's been an absalute gem, I would never buy anything other jap cars now, had two frnch cars that were horrible, had a Mazda 323 that brilliant and now my primera is a great family car, big boot, back seat planty big enough, stylish front dash board, loads of boys toys fitted like electric seats and sat nav etc. Go on buy one you know you want. At least take one for a test drive.

I have been a Ford driver for years but after shopping around and realising that they are now far too expensive for the kit you have, I thought I'd test drive the Primera.

As soon as you sit in it the quality easily outshines Ford's Mondeo and Focus Ghia. The dash is futuristic but also practical, not like the foolish gimmicky touches adopted by Renault (see the new Megane's handbrake).

The 2.2 diesel is the pick of the bunch in the engine dept, easily outstripping most 2.0 petrols. The torque impressed me also, this car would have no problems beating any boy racer! Ironically though, the Primera still suffers with the 'old mans car' tag, despite the radical new styling. Nissan seem to go from one extreme to the other; the Skyline' is every boy racer's wet dream and yet the Primera wouldn't keep a pensioner up past the 9 oclock news. Shame really, as the look of the car would definitely turn heads, if the Nissan Primera label was removed.

To Nissan's credit, the car comes loaded with hi tech equipment as standard. The 'bottom' of the range Primera has more kit than the Ghia Fords!

What makes the Primera even better is the price. If I had bought a new one, I would now be suicidal, but the second hand market offers bargains galore. I paid £5500 for a car that 3 years ago would sell new for £16000. A 3 year old Focus with similar mileage and spec etc was nearly £7500 in my area. So, conversely what makes the Primera an 'old man's car' is what makes it a good buy!

Everything clunks and clicks the way it should apart from a small rattle in the passenger footwell, nothing a bit tape won't solve.

A good car with great engine but be careful what colour you buy if you want to avoid the 'old man' tag!

In recently achieved 62.9 miles to the gallon (Birmingham to Manchester) with my Nissan Primera Dci Se D 2.2 Hatchback, which is good for 2.2 litre engine. Brilliant SAt-Nav (standard), very roomy and easy to handle. Impressed with low insurance and £135.00 tax band for year. So much to offer. Price band too good to believe. Currently have a 2004 model- can't wait to upgrade to another Primera! Why has it been a secret car for so long?

I have driven Volkswagen for 6 years with major quality issues toward the end that Volkswagen first of all couldn't then didn't want to fix and finally ignored without offering a solution.

Decided to go for any japanese and the decision was a Nissan Primera Dci Se D 2.2 Hatchback. I can't find anything wrong with this car. Some aspects might need to get used to (stereo control) and other could or have already been improved (suspension). This car is very powerful at low consumption (average 45mpg), well engineered. Excellent value for monay. Personally I have experiences with german car manufacturers in the past (vw, audi, mercedes) and do not want to put up with their ignorance any longer. Why bother buying german or others when japanese seems to be very competitively priced, excellent quality and friendly franchises?

Nissan? Always again!

Nissan Primera Dci SVE D 2.2 Hatchback Family Car Review

Why is it everyone would kill for a 350Z Nissan or a Skyline, yet ignore the Primera? The Primera is the best kept secret around, offering more in terms of equipment for your money than anything else on the UK market. The SVE model I tested for 4 months and 9,000 miles performed faultlesly. Whilst you relax in the full leather, heated and electric seats and plan your route using the fantastic 7" colour screen Satellite Navigation, you drop the car into reverse and the colour reversing camera takes over and displays everything thats behind you making even going backwards easy. Turn on the 6 CD autochanger and your ready for the off. The car is excellent. For sure its not an Audi or Mercedes, but it is a great competitor for the other cars in its sector such as Mondeo, Vectra, 407 etc and you will have the added bonus of knowing you got much much more car for your money. I highly recomend this car, its well built, good to drive and will go on forever and dont forget its built by the folks who brought you the 350Z and the Skyline. Forget the snobby badge predjudice, buy yourself the sectors best kept secret.

My previous cars were Peugeot 406 and I chose the Nissan Primera Dci Se D 2.2 Hatchback Family Car believing it to be a good new car with excellent fuel economy. What a joke, Nissan were not interested in my complaints citing my driving style as the problem, despite having achieved over 55mpg from my Peugeots.

All in all a prize Turkey backed by very poor customer care from Nissan (including their president Carlos Goshen).

My last three cars have been 2 VW Passats-Sport 115PD TDI,and a BMW 320d(150hp).The Nissan Primera Dci Se D 2.2 Hatchback Family Car is a distinctly better car than the Passat (better engine/ride/handling) although it doesn't quite have the "hewn from the solid" feel of the VW! The BMW was poorly built and unreliable but had a wonderful engine and was also ludicrously overpriced.

The Primera's qualities are something of a mix of both-but secondhand, is a fraction of the price of the other two. I bought an as-new, certified 20k miles, 10month old car for under £8500.
