Ecu And Gear Box Failure At 60k With My Mercedes A
ECU and Gear box failure at 60K with my Mercedes A Class A170 CDi Classic, expensive!. Heard most of these cars have this problem.
The W168 automatic gearbox is the biggest load of rubbish I have experienced in my 60 years as a mechanic. Mine has already cost me over 3,000€ and it is still not right, slips in 1st to second, (very common fault) and the lockout switch failed resulting in me not being able to start the car at all until I fitted a bypass relay. total basket case, MB should hang their heads in shame at fitting such a load of rubbish and the designer should be SHOT!
